This next step in my 6 step framework on how to build unbreakable discipline revolves around accountability and authority. When I was young, I rebelled against external authority. People telling me what to do, where to be… I didn’t like it. And a lot of that stemmed from this feeling of being trapped by my ADHD medications. It really made me feel like a prisoner in my own body. So, given the option to get off my ADHD medication, I took it. And once I was off this medication… and things didn’t change right away. I discovered that it wasn’t just external authority I was rebelling against, it was my own internal authority as well.
