The term “regenerative agriculture” has become a buzzword in the past two years, encompassing such fields as regenerative viticulture and agroforestry. But what does it all mean? And what will this new approach to agriculture mean for the production of fine wine? Will they improve, or even redefine, how we think about viticulture and terroir? In this episode, we talk to Mimi Casteel, who holds a Masters in forest sciences and biology, one of the leading voices of the regenerative viticulture movement. She discusses how studying trees and forests has shaped her vision of the world, and working regeneratively has impacted her viticulture and winemaking at her Hope Well vineyard in Oregon.
