What is Leanne Morgan’s background and early comedy career?
Welcome, welcome, welcome to Armchair Expert. I'm Dan Shepherd. I'm joined by Lily Padman. Hi. And Sharon Beasley. Hello. Um, today we have an incredibly funny and wonderful woman, Leanne Morgan. She is a comedian, an actor, and an author. And she has uh the most funny show on Netflix called Leanne, appropriately. And also uh you're cordially invited in Leanne Morgan. I'm every woman. These are stand-up uh specials. She's a hilarious stand-up and a hysterical actor now on a sitcom. I love her. Enjoy Leanne Morgan.
He's an object. Is that you're
Look at your arms and legs.
Let's look at them together. Thank y'all so
much for having me. Oh,
come on. Little
Monica.
Hi.
My little baby is a huge arm cherry and she cannot even believe I'm here. I can't believe I'm here.
I didn't email him my notes. I'll be right back. Okay, my darling. Get all the drinks and stuff. I
need to work out.
I got uh. It's just too hard to do. But we have to bone density. Bone density. It's all and I saw Mary
Claire on with y'all. Yes. I did a thing with Mary Claire with Oprah. Of course. On A B C about menopause. And what were the big takeaways? I had a podcast years ago. That would be huge now. Yeah. But I stopped because I got detour in so heavy. Yeah. But it was called Sweaty and Piss, Menopause and More. And it was a brilliant nurse practitioner with me who helped me with my hormones and but we made it funny. Yeah. And they asked us to go on tour and I just got too busy. Yeah. And I think now if we'd kept
that Definitely.
It's all the rage. Everybody's
now
talking
about
menopause. No one like cared about
menopause
until recently. I have got to live and I enjoy it. I really do enjoy it. But then I get to a hotel room on tour and I just think, I've got to go stare at the walls so I can be funny. I
know. How many days are you on tour here? I'm all the time right now.
You look like one of those Iron Man men that are running and doing that Iron Man that are swimming and biking and doing in Arizona. How about these
like ultra marathon guys that are running and women that are running through Death Valley on like mile ninety seven? I'm like, how? I really can't conceptualize.
I know and I know a couple of people who do that. My orthodontist is tiny and fit and c looks cute in his pants. And he'll say, I'll give myself a little treat once a week and I go, What is it? And he goes, I'll drink one of those little dentist cups of Diet Pepsi and I'm like Oh my God.
Well he hates it. No, he he's angry at himself. Oh no, but I'm sitting here eating pork saucy. Yum. Wait, you have an orthodontist?
I have an Invisalign. When I was forty something, all of a sudden I started looking like Joan Rivers. And I loved her. God rest her soul. Yes. But I had a side bite and all three of my children were in braces and me at the same time. Wow. And I said to that little orthodontist, 'cause we have a chemistry, What am I buying you? Like a pool or a fountain? What is this? Literally. Cause we were all and it was money going out and I would go with them and get mine tightened while they got theirs tightened. And then I kind of let 'em go. I didn't wear my retainer. So then I had to do Invisalign again. Well your teeth look beautiful. Thank you, Miss Angel. Thank you. Well who knew I was gonna blow up and be a movie star.
Who knew? But I had to have good teeth. Yeah. Yeah.
That's true. Did you have orthodontia as a child? No. And my mama
begged, my little dentist, but back then, you know, they didn't let everybody have it, or maybe in the country, but they were okay back then. And they didn't get twisted up until I was in my forties.
I had 'em from probably starting at like seven years old until eleventh grade. It was a full all hands on deck operation to get my teeth to look like this.
And you don't wear a retainer.
I should have. One went rogue when my wisdom teeth came in. This one was like, not enough room. I'm gonna hang back here. And now I have that. And currently our oldest daughter has the same matching fucked up tooth. And I really love it. And of course she's gonna fix it, but I kinda want her to keep it so we have something in common.
