Australians Teach English

EP 48 Couldn't Organise a Piss Up in A Brewery

11 Aug 2021

Description

Some might ask, "Why haven't us Australians gone back to Australia yet?" And well, the answer for many of us is, "the government can't organise a piss up in a brewery". In this episode we talk to Melanie about the current political situation on the ground in Australia. We talk about how Australia, a typically well organised country, has completely failed in regards to its vaccination program. In other words, the government couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. We take this opportunity to talk about the different meanings of piss and pissed between American English and Australian English. We also talk about the differences in drinking culture between Australia, the United States and Argentina. We talk about how Australian politics is entwined with a drinking culture and why this is not necessarily a positive thing. I also regale you with some drinking stories, only some of which can make it to air. Anyway, wherever you are, we hope you're organise things in a much more efficient and competent manner than the current Australian Government. Enjoy!
