How are civil rights groups fighting election intimidation and voter intimidation?

Symone Sanders Townsend 0:00
They closed one path, but the others are still open. I do think it's really important that you all fought and won at the Supreme Court because this is an example of like, you can't, you don't have the opportunity to win if you don't at least fight. That's right. And y'all have, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund has consistently been there fighting. What about some of these other avenues? What else are y'all fighting on?
Unknown 0:19
Oh, we're fighting on multiple fronts. We, in fact, are about to announce a very important coalition advocacy effort tomorrow with a lot of leading Latino organizations because we are concerned about potential intimidation at the polls. But we also know that there are plenty of ways that state and local officials can push back against any potential intimidation at the polls, that it's unlawful. First of all, we need to remind them that they have the authority and the responsibility to make sure that people are comfortable at the polls, that they don't feel that they are scared in any way, and that they have the right to exercise their vote and use their voice without any feelings that they might run into trouble with federal law enforcement.
Unknown 1:02
So that's one of the things that we're working on.
Symone Sanders Townsend 1:03
Do you have a press release you want to share with us right now? You want to tell us anything else about this effort? Please tell

us. I have a press release. I have three letters to governors, mayors, state election officials. And we are serious. We are unified as a community around these issues. We are going into this eyes wide open because the Legal Defense Fund has been studying all of the issues that have come up in prior elections. We released a report called Democracy Defended, which looked at all of the concerns from the 2024 elections. And we're reminding elected officials of what happened. So we are not walking into this as if we don't know what the challenges might be. We're walking in there with information armed with potential solutions and ready to go to war if we need to.
Eugene Daniels 1:42
Continues to be the question about federal aidness at the polls, as you said, but also Casper Tell, the FBI director, refused to say whether or not the FBI would or won't interfere in the election. This is Richard Blumenthal and Peter Welch. He's talking to listen to this.
Richard Blumenthal 1:58
The president. So you would agree with me that deploying FBI agents to the polls on election day would be contrary to law?
Kash Patel 2:08
I don't know that we can't legally do it. I'm telling you we're going to house our agents and intel analysts in our field offices for election security. I thought you weren't going to be sending people to the polls. When did you hear that? It's just

another lie.
Kash Patel 2:20
When you answered Mr. Blumenthal.
Stephen K. Bannon 2:24
This is the primal scream of a dying regime. Pray for our enemies, because we're going medieval on these people. I got a free shot on all these networks lying about the people. The people have had a belly full of it. I know you don't like hearing that. I know you try to do everything in the world to stop that, but you're not going to stop it. It's going to happen.
Jake Tapper 2:45
And where do people like that go to share the big line? Mega media. I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
Unknown 2:55
Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose? If that answer is to save my country, this country will be saved. War Room. Here's your host, Stephen K. Bann.

Wednesday, 16th September, in the year of our Lord, 2025, or 2026. Let's get this right, 2026. You see this huge fight. We're going to have... Neil McCabe is going to join us at 5 because it's so slammed this morning. Neil is going to be there to go through the Cash Patel testimony yesterday. Cash, they tried to hammer Cash. But I think folks in the administration, like Mark Lee Mullen and Cash, and yes, it became a free fall. But hey, when you start talking about election security, since we got overturned by the Supreme Court on the mail-in ballots, there's no Save America Act yet. Wayne Allen Root has has set up, you know, Wayne Allen Root is going now to the need act for this national emergency memorandum.
