In twenty four, the biggest comeback in American political history in twenty twenty four, topped even the comeback, I think, in uh in in sixteen. Uh, which is another historic comeback. But we need to frame this about what the alternatives are. Laura Reese joins us now, Heritage uh borders director of border security. You work with uh Mike Howe and uh and and Todd Bensman. They're part of your group over at Heritage, uh correct, ma'am?

So this piece in the Daily Signal, if we could get it up, if Denver could get it up, y you did, I think the best job I've seen to date of what I say connecting dots. And you said there's a flashing red in this midterm or flashing red for America right now about this red green alliance. How did you come to to to think about this to write it when you're in charge of like bur border security and immigration? How did that tie into you making this case of connecting all these different dots about the Marxist jihadist uh opponents that we have right now in this country, ma'am?
Well it was a couple of factors. Uh we're in the twenty-fifth anniversary of the nine eleven terror attacks, and so it is uh incumbent on Americans to remember and and for those who are too young to learn. who was behind uh those attacks and why. Um and rereading parts of the 9-11 Commission report was uh very important because a couple things that they called out were the lack of information sharing that a wall was erected intentionally by Clinton's Justice Department um to prevent sharing of information between the intel intelligence community and law enforcement, but also the inability to spot the dots and to connect them. Um you you combine that with Um uh James Mitchell, who was a CIA contractor, and he interrogated Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, KSM, the the mastermind behind the attacks.
And um and and KSM told us um kind of what we're now living and that is they didn't need to do more grandiose attacks using planes. Instead he said, here's what's gonna happen. We're going to use your immigration system. We're going to have more births than uh native-born Americans. We're going to use your welfare system. We're going to wrap ourselves in the rights and privileges of the US Constitution.
