First guest up tonight, Andrea Seaman, Managing Director of... Bundeswehr der Freiheit, which is a German for the Alliance of Freedom, Swiss, German, my guest this evening. Thanks very much for stopping by. um we're going to talk a bit about your organization in a few moments because it's doing great work but a couple of things that you've been writing about recently we would like to dig into a little bit for for the war room our mission really is both to provide a network and a web right across the world of everything taking place in our movement and its various iterations, but also to brief what is fundamentally, principally an American audience, an American evangelical audience on just how bad things are here in
Continental Europe. So Switzerland, of course, not part of the European Union. You've managed to maintain your independence and sovereignty and quite successfully, I might add, as a model to aspiring nations hoping to leave. handling your sovereignty a bit better than we are doing in the uk that's for sure tell me a bit um you had as an example of certain things that you write about this recent development about a guy in switzerland who was put in prison for a quite a short term sentence but in prison nonetheless because he dared to suggest that skeletons can't be trans That one would have thought that was a relatively innocuous point of view to have, but not so much these days. That can land you in jail.
Tell us a bit about that story as well and your organization's approach to covering it.
Yes. In Switzerland, we have a wind instrument repairman. So he repairs wind instruments and he is in the canton of Bern. So he's not part of the elite. He's just a normal guy. And he wrote on Facebook. that if you dig up LGBTQ people after 200 years, all you'll find is men and women and anything else is a mental illness which the curriculum has propagated. In other words, he was referring to biological facts as, you know, generally recognized amongst the scientific community and as he sees them. For this, comment saying that, you know, skeletons are just men and women and nothing else. He was fined. He then refused to pay the fine. His name is Emanuel Brünisholz, by the way. He refused to pay the fine.
And then as a compensation for or as a replacement for the fine, he had to go to jail for 10 days.
How does the Swiss Alliance for Free Speech describe the Emanuel Brünisholz case and its impact on free speech?
And quite recently he did that. And it was a terrible scandal which was reported about all over the world. Our organization helped make it popular. I wrote this piece for Spiked Online. We also got Graham Lineham, the famous creator of Father Ted, to retweet the story, along with a personal statement of Mr. Brunis Holtz. And luckily, he is a very brave soul and said that he can take it and he will not be silenced. which is quite something, because these days often in, you know, Zurich or Switzerland and indeed Germany, where we are also active, we see that many people are forced into silence. And I thank the War Room very much for giving my organization, the Alliance for Free Speech, a word in, in this troubled time we live in, which is annoying because... Go on.
