Global stocks slumped last week despite another earnings beat from Nvidia. The release of long-delayed economic data did not help matters as markets were left unsure of what it all means for central bank policy. This week, all eyes are on two inflation tests - one for the US with the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge out on Wednesday and one for Australia with the new Monthly CPI. The latter could determine whether the RBA can cut rates further or whether it's staring at hikes in 2026.
