16. Santander - Travel to Santander, the capital of Cantabria in Northern Spain.

What to do in Santander, Spain.  Santander is the capital of Cantabria in Northern Spain.  It is situated on the Bay of Santander at the mouth of the Cantabrian Sea.  Listen as we take you walking along the beautiful promenade which runs beside the Bay of Santander .  We continue our walk around the headland to the Magdalena Peninsula where we discover an open air zoo.  Hear why we were gobsmacked when we found the full size Galleons of the Mariner and La Balsa raft which has a very strong connection to our home city in Australia.  Next we wander around the Palacio de Magdelena and the gardens.  You won't believe the day trip we had to a little medieval village called Comillas and the Gaudi buildings that we saw.  Of course we spend a day at the biggest and most beautiful beach area in Santander.  Lastly, we tell you all about Semana Grande or Party week, that hasn't been held for 3 years and happened to be on the whole week we were in Santander.
