To get through this crisis, we must manage expectations. Let’s start with the clients’ expectations. Communicate with them your position. Even if you are unsure of things, let them know. Just giving them a reason will give them an idea and make them feel better and in turn, sets the right expectation from them. Here come your expectations of yourself. You cannot please everyone. There is only so much that we can do. Let’s be realistic that we can’t do it all. Expect that there is the new normal, and we are limited by what we can do given the circumstances at this time. You don't need to do all of the things, just focus on some of the key things that are going to move your business forward. Because setting the expectations right will not make us super disappointed. When it comes to your business, expect that everything will flourish amidst it all. We can be creative in the services that we offer our clients, price points will remain the same but with certain tweaks to services and products to suit clients’ budget. You can always provide payment plans and financing for high-end services that you offer. People are still buying. Don’t be swayed by what you believe that cosmetic procedures are not essential. Studies show that people buy based on emotion and not on need. Some businesses came to be, take the case of Uber and Airbnb, without us ever expecting them to dominate the market. Expect that your business will thrive. Believe that your business will be successful. What you direct your mind towards becomes your focus. So, focus on positivity and just remember this, ‘If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t, either way, you are right.’
