Oh yeah, of course. There are players who were angry. There were players who said they stormed out of the office before we could even finish what we were saying. There were players who wouldn't come in the office. They would stay in the shower or the food room and we had to go get them uh at some point or another. Some players you send the pitching coach out to get if it's a pitcher, but some you know you're gonna have a problem with, so you have the manager do it, sometimes the GM. Sometimes I would go and get them. You never know because players talk, they realize when roster moves are coming, they know when someone's coming off the injured list. They just have an inkling. Uh it's like a sewing circle in every clubhouse.

I think baseball already knows what the spin is, which is you can't look at one year. We're looking at a collection of years, we're looking at a larger sample size. The union, on the other hand, is saying, Look at this year, Bruce Meyer is going you know, on a media tour saying, Look at the Rays and look at the Brewers. Don't give me anything about competitive and balance and small revenue teams not having a chance. So everyone can use facts to their own advantage, but really none of that is relevant when it comes to the negotiation that actually happens.
