You know, they had gone out west and you know, gone nine and oh in the three city trip in Denver, Seattle through Sacramento. felt really good about how they were playing ball. They o they were winning games a lot of different ways. Then they come back, have the off day and they played a Baltimore team, but I will say this. Baltimore was playing a gritty brand of baseball and you know, I was able to do the Peacock game on Sunday, so I had some time to sit down with Craig Albert as their manager and you know, he were going over stuff with their team and I said, Hey, I go, i does this team uh are they playing with a chip on their shoulder with because of maybe what happened at the trade deadline?
You know, Adley Rutschman gone uh you know, some of their uh other you know, players, Ward goes to Seattle, you know, a lot of different moves that were made and you almost feel like they were like, Okay, okay, we'll we'll show you. And he spoke volumes about that the group and the character of the group, and that's kind of what you saw. They played a really uh gritty brand of baseball and they threw the ball well. Their pitchers were you know the starters had been doing the job and they were very good. Their bullpen was outstanding outside of Yen Year Kano. He had a rough series. But and they had they were more opportunistic than the Rays. That was the bottom line is the Rays had opportunities, they were not able to come through.
Baltimore did. They had the blowout on Sunday and then another tough game yesterday and fortunately for uh the team down here in Tampa, they were able to pull out a win and salvage that uh series.
Yeah, who knows who's getting that third wild card spot. You know, just y uh you can throw the Orioles in the in the mix, uh you know, all of a sudden too, getting off to you know, how they're playing against the best team in the American League.
