35.551 - 47.976 Nathan Hager

Karen, let's start with details on the historic blizzard that pounded the East Coast. Bloomberg meteorologist Craig Allen's been following this storm every step of the way and is here with us now. So, Craig, what kind of accumulations are we looking at from this one?

0

48.682 - 75.808 Craig Allen

Yeah, Nathan, this one does go down in the history books with historic numbers. 19.7 inches of snow for New York City. Now, that's the ninth largest storm on record. Records for New York City go back to 1869. Not too much down towards Washington, D.C., but a lot more in the other direction along the I-95 corridor on up towards Boston. 31.8 inches. inches officially at Boston.

76.088 - 101.875 Craig Allen

And before you get to Boston along 95, you hit Providence, 38 inches. That is the highest snowfall total ever recorded in the state of Rhode Island. And 80 to 85 mile per hour winds were also recorded along the coast. There is still about a quarter million people without power in portions of Massachusetts, that is, southern sections of Rhode Island, and also down the Jersey Shore.

101.855 - 114.319 Craig Allen

Wasn't wasn't too bad down there once you got inland. But right along the shore, there's anywhere from about 15 to 25 inches with power outages continuing down across southern New Jersey.

114.599 - 121.973 Nathan Hager

OK, so with one to three feet of snow in parts of the northeast, are we going to get any break in the temperature so we can dig out of this?

122.257 - 145.547 Craig Allen

It's going to be cold today. No precipitation today. It will be cold. Temperatures will be within a few degrees either side of freezing. That is running about 10 to maybe even 15 degrees below average. Milder temperatures are expected for the latter portion of this week. However, it comes at a little bit of a cost. There will be additional systems coming through. Nothing.

Chapter 2: What are the impacts of the historic blizzard on the East Coast?

163.33 - 176.781 Karen Moscow

All right, Bloomberg meteorologist Craig Allen. Thank you, Craig. And we'll be checking in with you throughout the morning as the digout continues in the northeast. Things are not back to normal just yet. Bloomberg's John Tucker joins us with the very latest. John, good morning.

0

Good morning, Karen. Yeah, it's going to be days before we dig out from the blizzard of 26. After three canceled flights, this man spoke for many.

0

Chapter 3: How much snow accumulation was reported in major cities?

188.404 - 195.998 Unknown

It's a little bit too long if you ask me. I'm wondering if they'll let me become the new groundhog and I can decide if winter stays a little bit longer because this has been a bit much.

288.998 - 308.404 Karen Moscow
