news when you want it. With Bloomberg News Now, I'm Amy Morris. Authorities investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie more than a week ago have released the first surveillance images showing a masked person on her porch the night she went missing. Authorities searching for the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie have not identified any suspects or persons of interest. FBI Director Kash Patel says the images show an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance. Turning now to the latest in the Epstein Files fallout, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick now says he did visit Jeffrey Epstein's private island. He says that was back in 2012 with his wife and children, years after Lutnick said he had cut off ties with Epstein.
Howard Lutnick 1:16
I did have lunch with him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me, as were my four children and nannies. I had another couple. They were there as well with their children. I don't recall why we did it.

Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen says the problem with this is the timing and Lutnick's earlier insistence that he had nothing to do with Epstein.
Chris Van Hollen 1:43
There's not an indication that you yourself engaged in any wrongdoing with Jeffrey Epstein. It's the fact that you misled the country and the Congress based on your earlier statements, suggesting that you'd cut off all contact when in fact...

You had not let Nick told the panel he found 10 emails connecting him with Epstein over a 14 year period. Let Nick is facing calls to resign over his relationship with Epstein. Now, Elon Musk's brother, Kimball Musk, a director at Tesla, was connected with at least two women through Jeffrey Epstein. That's according to emails released by the Justice Department. Those emails show an easy rapport between Musk and Epstein as they discussed party plans, relationships, and whether Musk would be able to visit Epstein's island. Kimball Musk released a statement saying that his only meeting with Epstein was in his New York office during the day. The FBI says back in 2006, Donald Trump talked with Palm Beach police about Epstein's inappropriate activities with teenagers.

The Miami Herald reports that in July of that year, as Epstein's criminal sex charge became known to the public, Trump spoke with Michael Reeder, the chief of police at Palm Beach at the time, about what Epstein was up to. The information contradicts what Trump had publicly said about Epstein's crimes and when he knew about them. The board of Warner Brothers Discovery says it will carefully review and consider the latest offer from Paramount, but is not modifying its recommendation regarding the Netflix merger. Paramount's guidance made enhancements to its hostile offer for Warner Brothers Discovery to woo shareholders over from rival Netflix. Geetha Raghunathan with Bloomberg Intelligence says they stopped short of raising the offer itself.

What new evidence has emerged in the Nancy Guthrie case?

They raised that bid to, let's say, 32, 33, 34, whatever the number is. you're going to look at a company that's going to be levered at about seven to maybe 7.3 times. You're not going to be able to invest in growth. You're just going to be focused on deleveraging. So yes, they could get their hands on this absolutely world-class asset, but leverage becomes this huge, huge headache for them.
Amy Morris 3:46
Paramount's proxy bid expires February 20th. Paramount shares are about a half percent higher. Warner Brothers shares more than two percent higher. Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon says he thinks the uncertainty in geopolitics and artificial intelligence will result in a speed bump sometime this year.
David Solomon 4:04
I would expect that we'll have something like that will happen that will create somewhere in the year a speed bump or recalibration or slowdown.
