It's just one of those situations where, you know, the message sort of gets muddled.
But lingering tariff uncertainty is affecting risk appetites. We do check markets for you all day long here at Bloomberg. The S&P 500 is down 1.25%. NASDAQ down 1.4%. The Dow down 1.7%. The 10-year Treasury yield at 4.05%. The 2-year yield at 3.43%. Bitcoin now down just about 5%, hovering around $64,000. IBM shares down as much as 12%, the most since 2020. And Novo Nordisk shares fell 16% when a head-to-head trial showed that rival Eli Lilly's Terzepatide helped people lose more weight than Novo's Kagrosima shot. Back in 2015-16, Lilly took a calculated risk to try this new molecule, a GLP-1 attached to it. So they ended up with a supercharged product. And then, of course, Novo never went down that road.
The results could weaken Novo Nordisk's competitive stance in the obesity market. PayPal attracting takeover interest now from potential buyers after a stock slide wiped out almost half its value.
