Iran will seek to bar U.S. and Israeli ships from the Strait of Hormuz and require compensation from hostile countries before they're allowed to use it. Iran's Fars news agency has released details of the deal between Iran and Oman on passage through the strait. The deal reportedly says U.S. and Israeli vessels and any related cargo, military or civilian would be prohibited. Meantime, both U.S. and Iranian officials have been signaling in recent days that some kind of accord on Hormuz is close. President Trump spoke to reporters about the strait.

Options the administration is discussing include research initiatives encompassing both forward-looking studies and backward-looking analyses. Scientific evidence has shown no link between autism and childhood vaccines, and decades of research has failed to identify a single cause of autism. Trump has previously pushed to pare down the number of vaccines recommended for children.
Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has been discharged from rehab. McConnell has been absent from the Senate since June when he suffered a fall at home. A statement from McConnell says that he'll continue his recovery and physical therapy at home. McConnell is not running for reelection. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has demanded more transparency from McConnell on his health and ability to return to the Senate. Meta has been ordered by a New Mexico judge to pay $567 million into an abatement fund to address harms to teenagers' mental health. The judge wrote in his opinion that Meta, quote, knowingly designed its platforms to maximize engagement, including in ways that are harmful to teenagers and does not adequately disclose the risks of harm to its users.
Meta says it disagrees with the ruling and will appeal, company spokesperson Andy Stone said in an ex-post.
