The United States says it ceased two sanctioned oil tankers linked to Venezuela in back-to-back actions in the North Atlantic and the Caribbean. Bloomberg's Mike Shepard says the U.S. wants to exert maximum control over the flow of oil in and out of Venezuela.
They want to be sure that the revenue that comes from the country eventually goes back into Venezuela, but also goes to support whatever costs the U.S. may have incurred.
