The Tigers will be here on the weekend, which is a tough one. But yeah, if you're a Toronto sports fan, get right. Look, I'm trying to hold a little bit of optimism for the Leafs still with game five tomorrow and everything, but not the best night for the Raptors. We're a year away from the Toronto Tempo still. The P WHL playoffs will be over before you know it. This is all Jays sometime soon here, Julia. And uh yeah, getting I don't I don't want to say hot yet 'cause it's only four games and we we've had this uh football pulled out as we try to kick it already a couple times this season, but not a bad time to be coming home and and maybe getting a few more eyeballs in the next little bit.
Not a bad time to be facing the Tampa Bay Rays, a team that is not necessarily, you know, the the hottest hitting team in the world right now, uh scuffling out of the gate. It seems like This should be a time to sort of get the ship in order a little bit more, build a little bit of a longer wind streak, which is something that we're still looking for this year from from this team. But we also know that this was kind of expected earlier on. They went to Anaheim. We thought that was going to be an easy series. It was anything but an easy series. This team doesn't make a lot of sense right now, uh, but as Keegan Madsen, who's going to join us in a little bit, said or wrote recently, it doesn't have to make sense.
It just has to work.
It also, yeah, it nothing makes sense in baseball if you look at small windows uh of time. This is why they play a hundred and sixty-two. So yeah, not a bad time for the Blue Jays to be coming home, playing some decent baseball of late. And uh look, the main thing is the important thing is is not that they peak in October. Good, man. Uh yeah. So the book is the franchise. It's out June third. We've talked about it on the show a little bit, but since we last talked to you, there are physical copies now. Julie and I both have ours. Uh you have a stack of them now. How does it feel to have it out there in the world?
Amazing that it's real and that I can pick it up and hold it. It's uh it's relieving that this has not been a long prank on me. And uh there was always a bit of a suspicion in that regard, but uh it's great. My life is now heavy boxes of books. This is uh the exciting part, the fun part. So I'll be uh walking up and down the press box this next week, like Santa Claus with well, you know, Christmas implies you want the gift. I don't know.
There there are lumps of coal. I I believe canonically Santa gives those out as well.
Yeah, there is the chapter where I just trash everybody on the beat, so maybe they won't like that. But it's uh it's great to be at this time and it's getting closer to it. I know some folks are getting their copies, it slips out a bit early in a few places, but this is the fun part. There have been a lot of parts that were uh were a word I other than fun I would use to describe it. So this is the good part. Uh very happy to be close to it. Counting down now, man. It's um it's funny to track it. Uh i if the blue jays win five games. in a row versus losing five games in a row, you can tell how much people care about this baseball team very clearly. So it's uh been a good week.
That's really funny that you actually have, you know, tangible numbers to to sort of quantify how much winning makes a difference uh for the interest in a baseball team. That is uh that is hilarious to me.
