Could the Blue Jays become sellers this season?

Chris Cotillo 0:10
This is the longest between Blue Jays games that will go all year. Is it just me or is this camera really off and tilted? It looks like I'm falling over. Sorry if you are listening and not watching. Anyway... This is the longest between games. They have a 3 o'clock afternoon game on Wednesday. They don't play until 10 o'clock on Friday. It's a long wait. And luckily, there was a lot of good World Cup action yesterday, and the NBA is doing what it does in free agency. So it's not the end of the world, but I... I don't like off days for the purposes of this show. And there wasn't even a lot of news around the Toronto Blue Jays. Yesterday they did lose half a game in the division and the wild card race. It's July 3rd.
Chris Cotillo 0:56
We can start looking at those things a little more closely. We did get a non-update on Ricky Tiedemann from Ben Nicholson-Smith. He is getting shots in his neck for that neck and shoulder soreness that is Kept him from going into Dunedin games twice now that he was supposed to and didn't get around to it. Arjun Namala continued his rehab at Dunedin as he works his way back to New Hampshire here. And that was about it for the minor leagues. But a big one for the minor leagues. Later today, Max Scherzer is going to start for the Vancouver Canadiens against the Eugene Emeralds at Nat Bailey Stadium. This game will be broadcast on Sportsnet 650 and the Sportsnet app. First pitch is at 4 p.m. Eastern, 1 p.m.
Chris Cotillo 1:38
Pacific. Tyler Zickle will be on the call. They also sold the remaining 800 tickets pretty much immediately, as I understand it, after Max Scherzer was announced to be starting today. So that's now a sellout.

What challenges are ahead for the Red Sox in the AL East?

Chris Cotillo 1:49
And because of rain out yesterday, it is a doubleheader today. So lots to look forward to at the Nat. And again, if you want to track Max Scherzer's rehab start, well before the blue jays get underway that'll be on sports at 650 in the sports that app with tyler sickle on the call the jays will be back in action later after that at 10 10 dylan cecil take on luis castillo in seattle we've got a loaded show to set it up we'll talk to brandon while of the score a little later we'll talk to john morosi of mlb network who was actually here for the world cup game yesterday we'll talk to nathan bishop to get the lay of the land in seattle but right now Off the paternity list and ready to check in with us here a little after the halfway point is my good pal Jonah Bierenbaum of The Score.
Chris Cotillo 2:32
Jonah, what's up, buddy?
Blake Murphy 2:34
Hey, dude. I was worried that they might DFA me instead of reinstating, but I made it. I survived.
Chris Cotillo 2:40
Yeah, the roster is not deep enough to designate for assignments. Anyone, but especially someone of your caliber. I don't want to reveal too much about your personal life, but you've been away for a little bit. Congratulations, and you were back at the park this week doing some Canada Day Streeters. How was that? How was the vibe? And just how sweaty are we talking when you have to spend two hours outside the Rogers Center at 1 p.m. on a day like Wednesday?
Blake Murphy 3:09
Yeah, definitely dangerously sweaty. It was great, man. I think that was actually a great game to return for because irrespective of what's going on in the season, the vibes are always high on Canada Day.

What are the keys to the Blue Jays turning their season around?

Blake Murphy 3:19
People are always out enjoying themselves, you know, having a good time. you know all the festivities the revelry they're always cranked up to 11. uh it was wonderful got a chance to chat with uh russell martin they brought back a host of blue jays alumni canadian blue jays alumni uh for the day which was great got to chat with russ martin which was really cool Yeah, it's just a really fun day at the ballpark. And wouldn't you know it, the Blue Jays did something that they haven't done too much of this season, which is get a commanding win. They hit a couple bombs. Vlad had an extra base hit. It was shades of 20-25. And hopefully that can kickstart a stretch of strong play here for the Blue Jays, who are three and a half games back of a playoff spot right now.
Blake Murphy 4:02
And their season is kind of looking like it's going to be dictated by what happens over the next four weeks.
