Read other authors. Read the top books in your genre or field. Read and read some more. And, of course, buy books!As Ernie Zelinski recently wrote in the Book Marketing Success Stories Facebook group:I'm amazed by the number of people I have encountered who want to be bestselling authors and don't read other people's books.When I discover a bestselling book in the areas that I write in, I promptly buy the book to see what makes the book so successful.And no, I will not take it out of the library. That's for losers. If you won't buy other people's books, why would you expect other people to buy your book?My advice: Read the best books. Buy the best books. Encourage other people to buy and read the best books.
