Chapter 1: What are the implications of the Jets hiring a new defensive coordinator?
You guys discussed the Jets and their hire of Brian Duker as their new defensive coordinator. He coached under Glenn in Detroit as a defensive assistant. So he knows them. So that's why he hired him.
He knows them, trusts them, giving them opportunity.
I did tell Al the first article I read, the first line looked goofy, if you just read it quickly, because it said the Jets hired Dolphins wide receivers coach.
Yes.
Slash secondary coach.
A lot of these coaches do. They learn a lot of different positions. Tight end coaches are trying to learn offensive line play and that kind of stuff, and then they get elevated to that position. Understood. The great thing I will say is that This is the second wave of coaches now that are coming through. Second wave, I should probably say the 50th wave of coaches that are coming through.
And all these guys that are in their 30s and 40s that are getting their opportunities.
Now a guy in his late 50s is Todd Munkin. He will be the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns. A couple quick ones. So when teams hire different guys, it's kind of like, hey, get to know this guy. So the Chargers did that with Mike McDaniel. And there were a couple of interesting things they put out. It was ask the coach, and he would read a question and give you an answer.
So a couple that I found interesting was about his education.

Chapter 2: What did Cody Bellinger say about returning to the Yankees?
I think you said it yesterday. Maybe in the beginning of the year we thought too much of them, and now it's starting to look like the team we thought they'd be in the beginning of the year.
You know, Gio and I played with Rick, and he thought his team was going to be good, but it was going to take a while for them to get in sync. If you remember that conversation we had with him, it wasn't anything that St. John fans wouldn't know that we're saying, but he thought he had a good team,
He said it was going to take a while for them to figure it out, and they're starting to figure it out. Now, how deep they can go, who knows? Because some of these teams out there are like G League teams in college basketball.
Yeah, I mean, I would rather see this than the opposite of them getting out to this unbelievable start and then sort of fading. So they had some issues. They lost some games. That Providence loss was a really bad one. And ever since then, they've won every game.
Seven in a row now. Seven straight wins for the Johnnies. That's right.
Islanders-Rangers, first of two in a row, and it went the Isles' way.
And that was Brendan Burke on MSG. Made it 3-1 indeed. 5-2 the final score. Holmstrom with a goal.
Hey, at least we scored two goals against them. That's the first two goals we scored in three games against them. You know how far the Rangers have fallen right now? On November 10th, when the Islanders went into Madison Square Garden and won 5-0. My new grandson, Matthew Schaefer, chirped me. Yeah. And he's like, how'd you like that performance? Yeah. He didn't even chirp me anymore.
That's how far the Rangers have fallen. It's like a minor league team. It's just another win. Here's the thing. You lose Shusterkin, which they haven't really given an update on his injury. And the fact that they're starting to trade people away makes me think that the injury is a little bit more serious than ā Probably many of us think because obviously without him, No shot.
