But I am... 100% telling you that I was more into that game yesterday than just about any game in any sport in I don't know how long. I'm sitting there trying to get my daughters to watch every bit of it. I'm standing up. I'm nervous. And I really did not think that they were going to win once Canada turned it on in that second period when they really were controlling play. And they get to three on three. And I'm like, listen, anything can happen here. Connor Hellebuck is just... I mean, this guy... forever is going to be known for what he did yesterday. And then Jack Hughes, after getting his teeth knocked out, ends up scoring a game-winning goal and talking about how much it meant to him and his country.
I mean, this was amazing. Videos all over the country of people in bars in the morning celebrating. This was great, man. This is a core Olympic memory for me and many others. And we're going to be talking about this forever. Good morning, Boomer.

Yeah, good morning, G. 46 years. It took 46 years to get gold. And I think about the golden goal by Sidney Crosby in Vancouver. You think about the Four Nations, Connor McDavid, the goal to win the Four Nations tournament against Connor Hellebuck in overtime. And then you think about all these different things that happened in this game in which Connor Hellebuck came up huge. You know, it's interesting. I'm not here to chirp Canadians. I actually admire Canadians. I love Canadians. I love the hockey world. We have two Canadian jerseys in here. Sure. My favorite hockey player of all time is Roger Bear. He's Canadian. We got Clark Gillies in here. He's Canadian. Yeah. You know, it's their home sport. It's their sport.
One of the reasons why climbing that mountain or climbing a ladder to get there and to do it in the fashion that they did, it makes it all that much more satisfying. And, you know, the amazing thing about all these players, you know, whether it be the Johnny Gaudreau Memorial where they took the pictures with his kids.

And, you know, we're all crying for that. Whether it was, you know, the Matt Boldy, the first goal where he splits two great defenders in Cal McCarr and Devin Taves. And he somehow backhands the puck past Jordan Bennington. What a goal that was. And what an unexpected goal that was. And then you think about Charlie McAvoy, who is a defenseman. He finds himself behind the goaltender in the goal mouth. And the puck goes over the goaltender and hits him in the stomach. And he keeps it out of the net. People didn't see that or even think about that as a big play. It's a scrum. You've got guys all over the place, pucks flying every which way. Nathan McKinnon missing open nets. Macklin Celebrini is supposed to be one of the best one-on-one guys when it comes to breakaways.
He's always the shootout guy. Canada made a big deal about him being the shootout guy in earlier games. Everybody looked at him to be the guy because he's a 19-year-old super stud. who plays for San Jose, and Connor Hellebox stops him. He stops Connor McDavid one-on-one. I mean, this is just a crazy sequence of events. And then if you told me that I could have McDavid, McKinnon, and McCarr on the ice in a three-on-three situation, how do I lose that? You know why I lose that? I lose that because... Those guys are all offensive-minded, and they all want to win with the game-winning goal.
