But, you know, this Team USA gold medal train keeps running. And, you know, I made sure that I got to MSG at 630 last night because I was curious, you know, with Danico and Rupp and Rachel Herzog doing the pregame. And then I knew Don and Danico late. I wanted to see how they were going to respond and what they were going to do.
And I thought they did it right. And it was really fun. And Jack Hughes with another moment in front of his own fans.
You know, I could be a real jerk and just say, oh, I didn't realize the Devils were playing last night. They're not the Nets. Relax. But you do know that I knew that they were playing last night because I was asking you, because we didn't know, but then we checked on it, and we saw that both Jack Hughes and Tage Thompson of the Buffalo Sabres were going to play in this game. I think that I have gold medal fever. I don't know what it is. You like Jack Hughes. It's the only way that I can explain why I would have turned on MSG to watch this and the beginning of the game as well. Because I've never done that before unless, of course, they're playing the Rangers. And, yes, I had to listen to Donnie and Kenny.
And I thought it was amazing last night. I thought... Jack bringing Tate Thompson on the ice with him was a tremendous job by him and unselfish. But that's the hockey nature. That's the hockey culture. We know that. And we've been around hockey for all these years. And I have to say, man, it gave me chills. Just gave me chills listening to him, you know, saying thank you to the fans for all the support, listening to the national anthem, of course, because we're all so patriotic around this team. And I have to say that, yeah, I did watch it. And, of course, Tate Thompson scores a goal. Of course. Because, you know, that's just the way it works. And he probably would have done the same thing at Madison Square Garden.
So tonight it is Madison Square Garden's turn to salute the gold medal players in Vinny Trocek and JT Miller, who did get back at 2 a.m. and were on the ice yesterday, by the way, with their teammates. They felt like that was really important. And, of course, the coaching staff. that coached the U.S.

If you're the visiting player, you're there, and you're not sure how things are going. And I'm sure they spoke to him before the game that this was going to happen. And it was just great. It was great. And watching the Devils fans serenade, obviously, an American hero for scoring that goal was great. It was absolutely great. And the kid is humble. I think he's also probably a little bit embarrassed by all the attention, I would think.
