Chapter 1: What was the controversy surrounding Ryen Russillo's Instagram story?
It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Hi, Boomer and Geo coming to you live from the Bill Ford Tough Studio on the fan and CBS Sports Network. Want to join the show? Lines are open for you. 888-828-1019. That's a Red Pocket Mobile fan line brought to you by your new ultimate cell carrier, Red Pocket Mobile.
So you remember earlier this morning we were talking about if you had a Super Bowl box pool and there was an empty box that nobody won, but the numbers landed on that box. One of our listeners, Terry, I appreciate it.
Terry sent me an ex-post this morning telling me that the way that the payout would work in a scenario like that would be the box to the top, left, right, and bottom would all get a piece of what that number was. That's the way that you would make the payout. Okay. There you go.
And I guess if your box was actually on the bottom, then it would only be the box above you and to your right and your left. You see the boobies on Ryan Russillo's Instagram story over the weekend? I did not. Yeah. Big boobs. He put that out there. It was real interesting, and it was up there for like a half an hour, 40 minutes.
They looked like a younger woman's breasts, like I'd probably say maybe 25, nipples pierced. And where was he? Is it a picture he took or did he just amplify it? No, I think that it was a lot of amplification going on on X this weekend. My guess is that's a picture that he got from somebody. Okay. And it ended up in the wrong place. But he's a guy who's not married.
I don't know if he's got a girlfriend or anything, so it's not like he was having to explain, you know, why are these strange woman's boobies on your Instagram story. He didn't have to explain it. So do you think he got it in a text thread from his buddies and then somehow... Or from that woman himself. Like, maybe that was a woman at Super Bowl week that was, you know, hey, I miss you.
Here are my boobies. You know, could have been one of those. And he was like, instead of like saving the picture, maybe he wanted to save the picture. He ended up putting it out on Instagram, which is unfortunate. Or maybe like Kalshi said, what's the prediction market on Ryan Rosillo putting boobies out on his Instagram story? And then he got a cut of that. Who knows? I don't know.
I don't think I follow Ryan. I don't either, but it just became one of those things, you know, that was out there. So then you had to go and see. Look at these boobies. Yeah. So then I had to go and check him out. I work with some strange dudes. I mean, come on. Is that strange? Is that strange to find out the right?
I'm just saying that last drop there by Rami, that's what's strange because that's Al.

Chapter 2: How is Giannis involved with prediction markets?
There's none of that happening here with this of any sort of regulating body who is paying attention to these things with people fixing certain situations to make money. And by the way, it's not just calci, it's polymarket as well. And you remember, we first brought polymarket to the discussion here around the presidential election because they had Donald Trump winning the election.
Yeah, well, most people were trading at that. But the predictive market is what the people trading were basically deciding for everybody. Yeah. Yeah, so the, let's see, Super Bowl streakers fortune explored after paying hefty price. So that was, you know, actually that was, no, that was this year. Yeah, I mean, it's a crazy situation and different and legal in 50 states.
As opposed to, you know, the gambling sites, I think, are only legal in 38 states. Yeah. So Cal State is a prediction market. Mm-hmm. I mean, it's genius. The people who came up with this and started this. I mean, absolute geniuses.
But, you know, the problem is you can control these things, and there's going to be people who are going to take advantage of this, and people are going to lose money over things because it's insider trading that goes on. Right, so Calshi and Polymarket consider their transactions as like financial derivatives is what they are. And there's a lot of non-sports gaming here too as well.
I don't know if you want to call it gaming. You know what I'm saying? They could do it in California and Texas, and I don't think California and Texas allows online gaming. Yeah, I mean, like, here's another thing that's a problem. So you can do just about anything. You could put up just about anything on Kalshi or Polymarket.
Meaning, like, if, you know, what are the odds that this guy does this or this person does that or there's going to be something that happens in this particular game? You know, there's... Things on a sportsbook where, all right, here's over-under points, here's spreads, here's first quarter, and all these things that happen during a game.
You know, with these predictive markets, it could be anything, anywhere that people are involved in. So, you know, when you see someone who is like a Kevin Durant who is sponsoring FanDuel, that's one thing. Because the NBA and all the leagues are in with the sports books now. And they're not allowed to bet on their sports. They're not allowed to do any of these things.
We've seen the NBA and the issues that they have had with Jaunte Porter and Chauncey Billups and everything else. And it's not a great look. But if you're someone like Kevin Durant and said you want to bet on these games years ago, that would look crazy. But right now, we do commercials for them.
But the thing about Giannis with Kelsey, though, is there could be something up there where he could control it. Yeah. Well, that's the thing. I mean, you could control the prop bet too thing, but people are on to that. And there's regulating bodies in the FBI will come get you. Like Giannis could control something on here about Giannis getting traded or whatever it might be.

Chapter 3: How does the prediction market work with events like the Super Bowl?
It's like anything. Now, for me, it's easy because I do FanDuel Sportsbook and I do FanDuel Fantasy, and they're connected, right? So if FanDuel gets involved in the prediction market and all three of those things are connected and I can just hit tabs on them, I'm going to be more apt to use FanDuel's prediction market than these other things.
As opposed to going to somewhere else and having to open that app and go through all that stuff. So that's why I think that as opposed to lobbying against this, they're probably going to get involved in it. I would at least imagine. But it's like anything else. It's like with these canned cocktails. So High Noon was there. They were kicking ass. And then Surfside comes in and takes over.
And then High Noon makes a nice tea to try to compete with Surfside. Got to stay ahead of the competition. It's just kind of like bucked up. Bucked up. Like you're all bucked up today. That's right. Right here. Yeah. Look at that. You don't want a sip? You got your coffee already. No, I'm good. While I'm waiting for Al to get me my coffee, it's usually this break here. Okay. Yeah.
It's a long hour and a half wait. I don't know why Al doesn't do it at 6 o'clock, but then again, he's coming off of his own show. Plus, I look forward to the 7.20 break. Oh, I'll get my coffee, and I have my little bar. It'll mess with his schedule. It's the little things in life, you know? Looking forward to 7.20. You are just so locked into everything that you do. He had a meltdown Saturday.
He did. What happened Saturday? I have a meltdown every Saturday, generally. And what was his meltdown in regard to? The dog situation. Me and the dog have a very good Monday to Friday routine. The routine gets very screwed up on the weekends. It really throws both of us off. And it was zero degrees outside. And the dog acts like it's not. You know what I mean? She's out there. It's sunny.
It's playtime. Snow and everything else. She wants to run. She's having a good old time walking, sniffing all the urine-stained snow. Yeah. Can you let her off the lead, or do you have to keep her on the lead? If I go to the beach somewhere open, I can let her off the lead. Okay. She'll stay with you, I mean. Yeah, she'll be in the area, but she will walk in the middle of traffic if I did that.
Okay. You know, walking around. Right. And you haven't tried that. Why? It's Boomer and Geo. I can't handle it. On the fan and CBS Sports Network. It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. Boomer and Geo on the fan and CBS Sports Network. Another frigid Monday. All the weather alarmists are saying there's going to be another huge... Snowstorm Sunday into Monday. Oh, come on. I'm serious.
It's the same thing as it was the last time when it missed us. It's the same thing that's going on, so I'm hoping it misses us again. That would be good.
It's another one of those deals where... Should have been here a half hour ago.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of insider trading in prediction markets?
That's why you moved him to third base. I'm just saying, for a team that wants to stretch defense, we have a non-first baseman playing first base and a non-third baseman playing third base. That's all.
I'm happy with the offseason, but the one major criticism is we heard run prevention, run prevention, run prevention, and that was the reason why you're getting rid of Pete Alonso, and then you're putting two guys in the corners who have never played those positions. All these guys are short-term contracts anyway. There's no long-term other than Lindor and Soto. That's it. You know what, though?
Elite up the middle. Elite defense up the middle. You know it, I know it. Center field, second, short. Yeah, you don't have to snap your finger at me. Also, better hope your bullpen's good. Yeah, of course. Bob, just because as good as the guy that you got from Milwaukee is, he's a five-inning pitcher. That was another problem last year.
I saw John Franco post the all-time Mets team that some podcast put out there and had him as the closer. I was wondering if he would have posted it if they had put Jerry's Familia in there or something. Probably not, right? No. But he's such a Mets guy. He has friends that are on there, but he's just wanted to amplify himself. He loves putting himself out there, that John Franco.
He's John Franco. Well, listen, if somebody says something nice about you and puts you on something, wouldn't you actually? No, actually I didn't.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Barrett Sports Media did that thing. I never reposted it. We don't like to touch the money. We're not retired. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Right. John can't go screw it up anymore. He's retired. That's true. Goes to every local game. Make sure he's up on the big board. I'm not knocking. I'm just saying. That's what he likes to do. Did he go to the St. John's-Yukon game Friday night?
I didn't see him.
I'm sure he was there.
