Chapter 1: What happened in the Seahawks vs. Rams game?
We start with the late game in Seattle, Seahawks and Rams. This was one of the longer drives of the game that wound up with no points for the Rams. Shotgun snap. Four-man rush. Stafford winds up, throws back in the end zone. Incomplete. Underneath. Looking for Ferguson. Witherspoon broke it up. On down. Seattle will get a bat. They've held. The Seahawks defense is held. Oh! Yes, they did!
Kevin Harlan Westwood won. It's almost as if as he went through that call, he's like, that wasn't enough. Yeah. Let me give you some more at the end. Both offenses for their respective winning teams took care of the ball the last time they had the ball. They kept it away from the opposing quarterback and won the game. And there's nothing more satisfying than doing that.
31-27 the final as Seattle holds off Los Angeles to advance to the Super Bowl. The quarterback numbers for both these guys are ridiculous. Sam Darnold, 346, three touchdowns, no picks. Matthew Stafford, 374, three touchdowns, no picks. But it was Darnold and the Seahawks that are moving on. This is their head coach, Mike McDonald.
You know, you can't talk about the game without talking about our quarterback. I mean, he just shut a lot of people up tonight, so I'm really happy for him.
Chapter 2: How did the Seahawks' defense perform in key moments?
Like, who's he shutting up? I think most people are really happy for him. Maybe there's a narrative. Do these people make this stuff up in their brains?
I don't know.
He got beat up pretty good last year when they played so poorly in Detroit. Yeah, I think that went away, though, when he got to this game. But I don't know. I think everybody was like, okay, he won that last game of the regular season. He ends up winning the divisional game. But, I mean, there was no doubt that people were on him. I just think that it was kind of dissipated going into this game.
Here was Darnold talking about Cooper Cupp, who had the touchdown catch that turned out to be the difference in the game.
For him to just be able to step up on a day-to-day basis for us, not only in games, but in practice, in the facility, he's a true leader for us. I feel like I say that all the time when I talk about him, but it's true. He's a great leader and someone who's just going to continue to do his job every single day.
Do you think that Cooper Cupp will love scoring that touchdown against his former team? I would think so. I would think so. Then there was Jackson Smith and Jigba, who had a big, big game. We are going to the Super Bowl.
All the people, the doubters, the naysayers, it feels awesome to have a group, have a collective that, like I said, just plays for the guy next to them.
Ten catches, 153 in a touchdown. I'll tell you what.

Chapter 3: What were the standout performances from the quarterbacks?
The one thing, the one seed and their favorite in the Super Bowl. Any naysayers now? They were favorite in this game, too. Yeah, I know that. So you've got to believe that Mike Vrabel is going to be playing this whole thing up. We're underdogs. Nobody thinks we can do it. You know, that kind of thing.
Obviously, Mike McDonald did a very good job of doing that with his team because every one of them was believing that. On the other side of things, the Rams come up short. Sean McVay goes to the podium. I get nothing, guys. I'm never really short on words, and I am right now. So, it's tough. But this is sports, and you've got to be able to deal with it. Here was a reaction from Stafford.
Obviously, this morning we lost a great football team that we just played. I feel like it was a great effort. Really good football game. Obviously, it didn't come out on top. That's... Tough pill to swallow at the moment.
I was hoping that Puka Nakua went out of bounds on that last play to stop the clock. Just to see a Hail Mary. Yeah, didn't happen. We gave you Stafford's numbers. Nakua, nine catches, 165 in a touchdown. That guy's unbelievable. In the loss, and he says still not enough.
We're passing the ball, and the opportunity for us to make plays is right there, and not being able to come down with any. All those moments kind of flash by you in your head, and... apologize to the defense for putting them in those situations because we felt like we could have executed in order to make that game easier for them.
Your defense just got torched. They should be apologizing to you. You think Matthew Stafford's got to come back and play. Why wouldn't he? I don't know. That was the big question after yesterday's game. Is he going to come back? Is he going to come back? He's got to come back. Didn't he just sign an extension there? Remember all that trading stuff? And then they signed an extension.
He's going to just walk away from that? No way. I hope not.

Chapter 4: How did Cooper Cupp impact the game against his former team?
I hope he plays another couple years. So you got the Seahawks going to the Super Bowl where they will indeed meet the Patriots. This is arguably one of the biggest plays or non-plays or whatever you want to call it in the game in Denver. Play clock down to five. Stidham in the shotgun. Play clock is at one.
Stidham waiting. Gets the snap. Blitz coming. Stidham backpedaling. In trouble. Inside the 20 pumps.
Lost the football. It's rolling on the far side. Picked up by the Patriots and running into the end zone. There is no signal yet. Now a flag has gone down, so it looks like they're going to say it was a forward pass and intentional grounding. Well, that's what they said. You got the challenge flag then from the sideline, and then the officials did change the call.
Is there any chance the ball was already coming loose before he did that? before Ellis knocked it out of his hand. He, like, went to throw it and pulled it back. After discussion on the field, it was a backward pass by the quarterback, picked up by New England, and it will be first down for the Patriots at the spot of recovery. Whoa.
Wow.
I initially thought that Ellis knocked the ball out of his hands. That's why, you know, it kind of ā but then you could see that it looked like he was kind of trying to push it or chest pass it. Right. He definitely did. It just didn't go forwards. You know, the thing about it is, I mean, I believe they got the call right, but why are they blowing the whistle?
That should have been a Patriot touchdown.
Very quickly, too.
Should have been a Patriot touchdown. Yes. Now they did wind up scoring, and so they win 10-7. Here was Mike Vrabel, team going to the Super Bowl his first year as head coach in New England. How they got here.

Chapter 5: What does the future hold for Matthew Stafford after this loss?
Well, it sounded like it. It sounded like he was on the court there. Maybe, I suppose. For the Brooklyn Nets, they just need to win the lottery. They need to win the lottery. Yes, they do. They didn't last year.
They need to this year.
And they get that kid from Kansas. Darren Peterson. Get that kid from, and then you start building around that kid. And did you see, was it Tennessee? So Alabama took the guy from the G League that played college basketball. Oh, yeah. Four years ago. So stupid. So they wound up beating them, and they post the win. Did that kid play? Yeah. He did. And they tweeted at his G League team.
Chapter 6: What were the critical calls and plays that shaped the game?
Like, we're coming for you guys next. I thought that was kind of funny. The Guardians give Jose Ramirez a four-year extension on top of his current deal that will keep him, I think, until he's age 40 through the 2032-year season. So he is going nowhere. The Devils played the Kraken last night. Things didn't go so great. Another shot. Another chance. Forked in! Powered home by Berkeley Caton!
Yeah, made it 3-1. That was Kraken TV with the call. 4-2 was the final score. Berkeley Caton's second period goal. The difference here was Sheldon Keefe. The team not generating enough offense.
Not so much the third period for me, but we don't score... We don't score enough, obviously, at 5-on-5. We don't generate enough or score enough to be able to absorb some of the way that we defended on the first two goals.
Now in the loss, Dougie Hamilton and Jack Hughes scored. It snapped a three-game winning streak, 4-2 the final. You've got the Rangers taking on the Bruins tonight. Got steamrolled tonight. The Islanders are in Philly. And your guy, Scotty Scheffler, won the American Express in La Quinta. Going away, baby. He won by four shots, I believe, at minus 27. Did you catch any?
Probably a stupid question. Did you catch any of Blades Brown over the weekend? Yes, I did. Shot that 60. Unbelievable. I know he was in the final group. Didn't play great yesterday. But up until yesterday. 18-year-old kid. 18 years old.
Yes.
With one of the coolest names ever.
Blades Brown.
Blades Brown. There's your Matthew Schaefer. Pretty cool, yeah.

Chapter 7: How did the Patriots manage to secure their Super Bowl spot?
I would tell you quickly, because I shoveled and used the snowblower, I'm not even joking, for seven hours maybe yesterday, five different times. Got a good workout. That back massager thingy? Yes. Unbelievable. That was a lifesaver yesterday because my back was on fire. Did Al get one of those? I think he did. He brought it in, right? I just took it off. I have it right here with me.
Oh, wow.
Why did you have it on? Were you out shoveling? Oh, yeah. My back is... I'm sure I don't do it properly. Was how'd Whimsy make it through the storm?
Well, the dogs don't know where to poop because there's no grass.
So they get very confused. Then what? What happens? She wound up pooing in the middle of a very busy street. I've done that one time. My 20s. Got 50 bucks out of it. All right, Jerry, we will see you next hour.
