So earlier this year, uh the House of Representatives passed what's called Section 219, which would effectively create a new office that would merge the US military and Israeli military kind of research, defense, industrial base, and uh technology so that uh you you further fuse what is already a pretty tight uh cooperation. Now, over in the Senate, uh the uh ND NDAA is headed through that chamber. It ha has to pass at some point over the next uh several weeks or months. And so there's a live debate over whether or not that fusing of the two militaries is going to take place. Now, one of the main arguments that defenders of the bill make is that this is actually America first because it is a huge benefit to the United States to partner uh
with the Israeli military, which is one of the most uh innovative in the world. That is the argument. One of the two of the programs that are actually uh held up as central to that argument are known as uh the Arrow uh missile defense program and also Iron Beam. Iron Beam in particular really gets people's attention because it is it is new laser technology uh that that Israel Uh says that it developed to be able to knock missiles out of the sky. That to anybody in Washington is gonna sound uh extraordinarily impressive. Wow. Laser warfare. Amazing. And so Murtazy Hussein and I over you can put this element up on the screen over at uh drop side news looked very closely uh at these two uh programs, how they were funded.
Uh who came up with the ideas behind them, kind of who drove them uh to completion, and you find a completely different story than the one that is told publicly effectively. Uh you find that United States taxpayers, United States companies, United States universities were behind nearly all of the breakthroughs that led to these, while it is Israel uh that maintained. You know, significant troll over control over the IP. Why is that? Well, you have we have a thing called Congress, and Congress insists that that uh be the case. Uh we talked to a number of uh Pentagon officials who were involved in these projects throughout their development. One of them is David Pine, uh, and he's he's joining us now to walk us through uh more of this.
David, uh thank you. Thank you so much for being here. Thanks so much for having me on. It's an honor to be on the show. Yeah, you got it. And so uh David is a former Pentagon official who worked on the uh Arrow Two program, a veteran. You were a former top uh national security aide for Representative Mike Lee. You currently are the Deputy Executive Director of the U.S. Task Force on National and Homeland Security.

Uh when it comes to the Arrow Two program in particular, though, can you you walk us through a little bit about you know what your involvement was in that program?
Yeah, so I was uh serving as international programs manager on the uh Army Headquarters staff in charge of all uh RD armaments cooperation with uh the Middle East, uh the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, um, Africa, the Americas. So I had a pretty wide portfolio, but uh I did uh was involved in signing a memorandum uh understanding uh in Tel Aviv uh along with uh other uh DOD officials.
