Um So seeing what hi what's hidden is Mankorn's beautiful new book and it's his last book and y obviously and you're here to talk to us about it. Um so the book ends abruptly.

Just in case when the next one comes out and people think people think, Oh, we're just pulling another marketing ploy on this. There is another one. This is the last one. It's it's it's the big one. It's the big one. It's the last one in the trilogy with with Gil Publishing, the one that follows Listen to the Land speak in thirty two words for Field. So it's kind of the bigger significant one. But there is another one that is um again an unfinished manuscript that he left us with that uh will be coming out next. next year and that is um about the uh cultural similarities between Ireland and Aboriginal Australia. So that'll be coming out next year.
Excellent. Okay. Um, so listen, almost exactly a year ago Lancon sat there, where you're sitting, He talked about all the things he wanted to do, and Stuff he wanted to get done. Finishing this book was one of them. Uh but but it wasn't to be I've often wondered since Did he think that day he was gonna do all those things that he talked about that he would get to do them?
He really did. I mean I d I don't know if you remember all the things that he was listing off that interview. Um I i he yeah, the Everything that he said that day was True. He did feel that he was going to get to do another train series. He did feel that he was going to get to do some of his Ron Axim tour and to remake the Noberla series with Nisha from kneecap. I think it was a Saturday that he was in with you. And um at that time we knew that things were really serious. Um But we kind of felt that okay, there's there's at least six months to a year, maybe. And it was the it was the Tuesday after that. It was literally three days later that the doctors came in and they said, Actually the chemo isn't working and would you like to go home?
Or would you like to try again? And we just said, No, thanks. We will we'll go home.
Okay. Um, he was pretty determined to come in that day. He was he was promoting ninety nine wards for Rain and one for Son. Did you think it was a good idea for him to come in?
He w he was promoting ninety nine Worth's rank, but he w like that was kind of the aside. He really he wanted to come in uh because he had some things that he wanted to say. Yeah. And and he did say them and I think they were the the things that um really kind of uh touched people the most and it was the things that he wanted to say about spirit and um and about the fact that he knew that he was he was going to die. And um Yeah, just the the the the strength that he had within that and and um Yeah.
Uh so I kinda talked to him about it that day. How was he about the fact that he was going to die. What was his attitude to it?
His attitude was one I mean, I think it was conveyed really well in that interview.
How did Manchán’s illness progress and what was the moment of his passing?
You the two of you had such a beautiful conversation and and uh He had it it it was buoyant. You know, it wasn't it wasn't sad and um He really did feel I think he said it he said a couple of times in in in different ways that uh you know, he felt he always felt that he was kinda half in this world and half in the other world anyway. He always had one foot in in both. Yeah. And um he just wasn't he wasn't afraid. Uh he wasn't afraid of dying. Um And yeah, it was it was an incredibly powerful and incredibly beautiful thing. to walk with him in that. Um Incredibly powerful. One of the most beautiful things that we ever did together.
