Now to preview the best entertaining coming to the big and small screen this week, it's time for The Watch List and I'm joined in studio by writer Henrietta McCurvey and host of the Here and Back Again podcast, Dave O'Callaghan. And Henrietta, we'll get straight into it. You've gone for a girl's getaway with a stellar cast. Tell us about Five Star Weekend. Yes.
This is the TV version of a beach read. Like it's a beach watch and it's sort of perfect for this weather. It's really easy. And it's a sort of luxe reunion drama, like Big Little Lies, The Perfect Couple, Four Seasons, that sort of thing. Jennifer Garner stars as Hollis, who's a beatific, if you're being kind, sort of sappy and emotionless, if you're not, cook and food influencer whose husband died suddenly six months earlier. On a whim, she invites four female friends from different phases of her life, you know, her school best friend, college best friend, mammy at the school gate best friend, someone she's never actually met before, who she knows online, which is a bit weird, to this lavish holiday home in Nantucket.
It's as though Meggle Markle-styled house. Now, maybe she did. She could be looking for a nixer these days, for all we know. And, of course, it is just everything.
What is Five Star Weekend about and who stars in it?
The secrets, the lies, the trauma, you know. Somebody's having an affair with somebody's husband. Somebody else's husband has got himself a little bit me too. Like, there's just really interesting backstories coming to light.
It really looks like something from the little clip I've seen. You could really binge watch.
It's completely binge-worthy. Very entertaining. Nothing to it.
Cowie 70 is particularly good.
A few twists and turns. Yeah, there are, as you'd hope for this sort of thing. But, you know, it's five middle-aged women somewhere together and nobody's getting murdered. So that's nice. OK, well, that's always good.
Definitely worth a watch. Yeah, it sounds great. And do you know what? Something that's kind of the high production values and it looks great and it's beautiful.
It's really sleek and pretty.
And as you say, they're going to a fabulous getaway. You'll enjoy watching. That's the Five Star Weekend. That begins this Thursday on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV. Dave, to come to you, there's a film that everyone is talking about this week, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Is it an epic worthy of Homer or Homer Simpson?
Yeah, it is. Well, sticking with the five star team, it is absolutely fantastic. It is epic. It's sprawling. It goes on for three hours. But if you don't like three hour movies, don't worry. It doesn't feel like three hours. It's dark. It's brooding. the cast is insane there's no point even but Matt Damon is amazing in the role and Anne Hathaway is great as Penelope but it's classic Nolan like Nolan himself has become a franchise or IP and people bail in find the biggest screen possible in Dublin if you can get one because they're selling out all over the place It is just a journey and a half. Like I'm grown. I grew up on Jason and the Argonauts and those type of things. And it's that kind of vibe. There's the Cyclops is there.
There's a scene with Cersei, Samantha Morton playing Cersei that you will never forget as long as you live. It is unbelievable. The music is amazing. Ludwig Göransson. Highly, highly recommend. Believe the hype. It's that good. And it's three hours.

But you don't feel it. Like the first half hour... People always say that and I never believed it. No, the first half hour of the classic film, I can barely hear what they're saying.
It's a big commitment. But you're saying it's worth every minute of it.
I've seen it twice, just so you know. I've seen it twice and it was even better the second time because I could focus on what they were saying properly because there is moments where you're like, what happened there now? But the creatures and all of that are.
And there's a particular, the Trojan horse scene is a standout.
