Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
Clifford Taylor IV 1:26
84 was a wild year. It was a wild year.
Alex English 1:29
I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to Look Back At It on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Unknown 1:39
My mother-in-law spent years sabotaging our relationship until karma made her pay for it. All right, Sophia, tell me about how we started this story. She moved in for two weeks, lasted five days, left a mess, and then pressed her ear against their bedroom door and burst in screaming. When kicked out to a hotel, she called her son-in-law's workplace pretending his partner had been rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Brooke Fox 2:00
faked a medical emergency?
Unknown 2:02
And spoiler, that was just the beginning. To find out how it ends, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Keir Gaines 2:11
Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hard Way with your favorite therapist and host, Keir Gaines. This space is about Black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit of armor it signals to the world that you not to be played with and just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to listen to learn the hard way on the iHeartRadio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts
Jeffrey Dubow 2:47
It's the radio segment that came out with a product for chefs on the go, introducing boomerang knife sets. Toss the knife at the turkey across the room, it slices it up, and then comes right back to you. Oh, just grab it. It's easy. Thanks to laser stories, the segment where we read weird news stories around the globe just like everyone else does, except we've got a laser. Those other sloppy choppies just don't. This first laser story is out of Florida. Let's start, Jeff. Ooh. I thought this type of thing died down a few years ago, but apparently it's still a thing. Two 18-year-olds were arrested recently after driving a riding lawnmower through Target. Ain't nobody got time for that. Through Target? Yeah, it was a stunt for social media.
Brooke Fox 3:31
Yeah.
Jeffrey Dubow 3:31
Of course it was. Of course. And one of them drove the lawnmower, the other recorded it. No one was hurt during it, but they did damage the front door when they banged into it twice trying to drive through. So they took the same driving school as Alexis did. Yeah. Police also noted that it wasn't totally harmless because it did endanger the other people inside the store. Regardless, this wasn't the first time the kids pulled a stunt like that. The night before, they used a leaf blower inside a nearby Culver's restaurant.
