What is the opening banter and who are the hosts of this episode?
Happy Friday. We're giving you a brand new episode today. So hopefully, you know, it just sets your weekend off right. Uh makes you laugh a little. It's Brooke and Jeffrey, and you have found the official second date podcast. So thanks for finding the OG. We appreciate that. Yeah. Um
and what do we got in comments? Coronavirus, which terrible handle name, I don't know. That's the handle name. I just
thought you were yelling coronavirus. I mean
It could be the disease itself talking. I don't know. That'd
be awesome.
I do feel like in another like ten or twenty years it will be a baby name. Oh, yeah. We could survive anything, like
a type of thing like that. She's a little fighter. Yeah.
Well, coronavirus said my mom said she wants some sort of animal plushie that makes Jose's laugh when you squeeze it. Love you guys. Me and her listen on our way up to college and love every moment of it. That
is brilliant. I could sell that as merch. I could make Jose dolls that laugh. Okay, what
would the animal be though? What stuffed animal would you have? I'm the animal.
I'd be a little brown boy. You would make it look
like you. It's like a baby doll. It's like a baby dog. It's not like a human. It's not like a human. Okay. Okay. A human that A human
that humans can cuddle other single people like me. Oh, this is getting creepier. I thought you
were gonna go to Build a Bear and just do some recordings. Better idea, full
body pillow.
Why don't we just picture Jose being the only one that buys one, cutting himself?
That's what's gonna happen. Yeah.
All right, let's get to the brand
new
episode before we get any more new ideas right now. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning second date update
When you spend the night with someone for the first time, are there some unwritten rules?
Hmm.
Like no hogging the bed sheets.
Oh yeah.
What funny side‑conversation do the hosts have about stuffed‑animal plushies?
And if you have to go to the bathroom you have to shut the door. Oh. Oh yeah. I mean once you're in a relationship, it's kinda like maybe, maybe not. No bruh.
That falls into the bathroom ones. Uh two people one toothbrush.
Oh.
Two people one toilet.
Huh? You guys are so weird. Well I d the
truth is I don't know. What are these unwritten rules? We really need somebody to write them down, 'cause I only know the gentleman one about leaving cash on the nightstand. Very good about
it's just a tip, right? Not a Yeah. But
I bring it up 'cause one of our listeners, Jack, said he got the invite to stay the night after his date, but he's worried he may have accidentally broken one of her unwritten rules. So Jack, first of all, welcome to the show. Thank you. Thanks for having me.
Did you switch the tables and steal her hooded sweatshirt? Oh
I did not steal anything. Well
not not
Wait, did you say maybe? What?
I don't know. You already sound like a hero in my book, but let's back up a little bit. Let's go to the beginning. What's her name and how did you two meet?
Uh her name is Sarah and we met in a Spanish class. What they do is the the teacher will pair people together to speak So I would sit next to her. Okay.
What are the unwritten rules for spending the night on a second date?
Hoping that like they you know, 'cause she's very attractive.
Do you feel like you're in middle school all over again? Like getting there like just at the right time when she gets in there, just so that you can get the seat that you won. Yeah,
like I would sit next to her, but we would never get paired up and so one night after class we were talking and I just kind of made a joke, like I think the And it sees you're jealous because I sit next to you hoping we get paired up and and he never pairs us up. And that kind of led to we don't want to go out.
Yes. I mean that was smooth. That was like a way to say I like you without being too over the top about it.
I kinda thought so. And my whole plan was like, Hey, let's go to this Mexican restaurant and then we can practice our Spanish. Oh, okay. And that's what we did. Unfortunately, that particular night all the white guys were working and no one there actually spoke Spanish. It kept up. Such an inauthentic experience.
You still learned what enchilada meant.
At this point I I'm thinking about do I speak Spanish I had my go to line by the way I I slipped on her which I think helped.
