Chapter 1: What is the unique theme of this episode?
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy? Not quite! On Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guests, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an acapella band with their between-songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter. Listen to Humor Me with Robert Smigel and friends on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the Enhanced Games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My mother-in-law spent years sabotaging our relationship until karma made her pay for it. She moved in for two weeks, lasted five days, left a mess, and then pressed her ear against their bedroom door and burst in screaming.
When kicked out to a hotel, she called her son-in-law's workplace, pretending his partner had been rushed to the hospital by ambulance. faked a medical emergency? And spoiler, that was just the beginning. To find out how it ends, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
On the Look Back At It podcast.
1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me.
I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.

Chapter 2: What are the Enhanced Games and their implications?
84 was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to Look Back at It on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win.
A win is a win. I don't care what y'all say. Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor IV. You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media. Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.
This is a place for raw, unfiltered conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. So let's get to it. Listen to The Clifford Show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Now that Mother's Day is done, it's Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Why do you do that? Is that a lot for you? Yeah, we can finally look forward to Father's Day.
Oh, oh.
Wow, what a fun thing to say. There's lots of gadget dads out there, though, and it's a good time to be alive if you're one of them. Because there's all these wearable tech options that are available right now. You've got smart watches, fitness rings, 5G toothbrush drones.
Can dads figure out tech?
Yeah.

Chapter 3: How did a mother-in-law create chaos in a family?
At least that's what this company, Sabi, says it can do. Is this like when a mood ring could read my mood? Is it the same type of thing? Totally. I remember when I learned that was all temperature. Yeah. This is slightly more advanced than that.
They're using something called electroencephalography, which puts tiny sensors inside the beanies that act as a brain-to-computer interface, and it translates your thoughts into text on another device. Wow. Wow. What's the use for this? I don't know, but if my brain is so simple, a beanie can read its thoughts, I think we have other problems.
Well, the use, Jose, is like if you're out jogging somewhere and you realize, oh my God, I'm going to be home late for dinner, just think about it and your beanie will text your wife for you. Okay. And you just have to be thinking, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap. I will say, only two drawbacks. In trial runs, the beanie can only translate 30 words per hour.
So you really got to watch your run on sentences. Number two, you must take it off before you go to bed because if you don't, it'll read your dreams and can short out as you sleep. Don't text my friends my dreams. Well, only 30 words of your dreams. Don't worry. I feel like it should also have one, like, also don't wear in shower. Yes. Or in a rainstorm.
Trust me, you do not want your head on fire while your thoughts are being read. That is the absolute last thing you want. But there you go. If your dad is a gadget man, think about getting him a psychic beanie for Father's Day. Yeah, I don't think so, Jeff.
Sorry.
Okay, if not that, possibly a mind-reading shock collar. I mean, it's worked for us for years with no negative side effects. Yeah. Now, let's Jake send Trivia Shock Day over question. Ready? You? Yeah, no side effects at all. I feel like I can read his thoughts. Good. Well, today is National Eat What You Want Day. Yeah.
It's a beautiful holiday where Americans collectively look at their nutrition labels and say, you know what? Mind your freaking business. Yeah. Yeah, I'm wrapping a cinnamon roll in a pizza slice. I thought this was just called Monday through Sunday for our country. Good point. Today, you have full permission to treat your body like a beat up rental car. Okay. Extra queso? Absolutely. Yeah.
Dessert before dinner. That's growth mindset.

Chapter 4: What new gadgets are trending for dads this Father's Day?
So when I ate the whole thing, it wasn't a big deal. No way. It's a delightful snack. Brooke, what about you? Three is off the board. Dude, I love this game. Give me five.
I want Cinnabon now.
You guys know you don't actually get these foods that I ask you about, right? I just said I want Cinnabon. Dude, if the beanie was on, you read my mind. Brooke, which has more calories, a McDonald's large chocolate shake or a Dairy Queen hot fudge sundae? Oh, definitely the chocolate milkshake. Those larges at McDonald's, you can bathe a small baby inside that cup. Brooke has done that before.
Yeah. Essentially the same ingredients. Brooke is very sure of her answer here. She says McDonald's chocolate shake.
Yep.
And she's right. A large is 800 calories at McDonald's. The hot fudge sundae at Dairy Queen, just a petite 520. Now we're over to Jose. Seven. Which has more calories? The Klondike ice cream sandwich. They're so good. Or the Costco blueberry muffin. Oh, that's a legendary thing because they're so big. Now the question is, is it the OG recipe on the blueberry muffin or is that new crap?
It's a disgrace to the muffin name. I think we can't get enough of this. I got to go with the blueberry muffin, bro. Jose says Costco.
And that counts for points.
The Costco blueberry muffin, 610 calories. One muffin? More than the hot fudge sundae. The Klondike ice cream sandwich, just about 180. It's just a small cake without frosting.

Chapter 5: How can a beanie read your thoughts?
In density, I would tell you the croissant.
Okay.
Well, you got to go with Brooke's expertise. I'm going to say Starbucks chocolate croissant has more calories. Brooke said chocolate croissant. Jeffrey believed her. He's right. The density thing. It's like a thing of layers with lots of air in it. I don't know what she was going for, but she nailed it. Oh, it's definitely heavier than a donut. Food math. Chocolate croissant was 300 calories.
The original glazed donut, about 190. Oh, wait. I'm going to eat more of those then. We don't even need a tiebreaker. Alexis has lost today's edition of... Plenty of 20. That means, Alexis, you're going to be taking the shock while singing Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles.
Oh, your favorite. Watermelon sugar, hi. Watermelon sugar, hi. Watermelon sugar, hi.
All right, that's enough. Dude, if you were front row at his concert, he'd kick you out. I'd put a little more effort in there.
He'd ask you to leave. He'd say, watermelon sugar, goodbye. Yeah, that was your shock collar question of the day. Phone tap's coming up in just a few minutes. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
