Maladaptive Daydreaming - Jayne Bigelsen

What if you were so addicted to something you couldn't even have a conversation in a restaurant without wanting to run to the bathroom to use, you were losing friends , jobs and school? What if I told you that something you were addicted to was daydreaming? That was Jayne's reality for years and the that disorder is now called maladaptive daydreaming. Jayne is considered by many as patient X because she is one of the first people to have papers written about her condition and the first person to get brain scans done while in her daydreaming state. Thanks to the internet and social media thousands of people now consider themselves as maladaptive daydreamers however, the condition is yet to make it into the DSM-5 (the bible of psychiatric conditions). Jayne is trying to change that and to spread awareness.
