Tulsa crowd. Great energy um into the show and look like there was over 2,000 people in that venue. Uh n nice house and nice into everything and they got a pretty damn good show. Uh from all that I've seen, again, I I have not seen the main event yet. Um and when you are in Tulsa or anywhere in Oklahoma, who do you gotta have? You gotta have good old JR. Uh love the fact that they advertised JR. I love the fact that that music hit and JR got to walk down that aisle uh one more time. Uh Jr's a voice of all of our generations uh growing up being professional wrestling fans. Uh I first s seen J.R. in Mid South um and have, you know, enjoyed his broadcasting career all throughout. I've had the honor of him calling my matches
And with Uh we all know he's had a bunch of health issues. And the fact that he's at the broadcast booth tonight in Tulsa, I think it's a very, very special and wonderful for uh that to happen as uh wrestling fans and as AEW fans. And then uh right off the bat, I gotta tell you, uh I like the fact that secrets are being kept. Uh we have hey, a match is spot. Uh Ricochet and his crew. versus Jack Perry and Jet Speed. And uh hey, breaking news, it's not gonna happen because one, there's a bounty out there, and two, something happened to jet speed. We don't know what happened, and then out of nowhere, uh the artist formerly known as Jake something, Jake Doyle, uh mainly from TNA's fame, uh has done It with uh Don Callis's uh favorite Dunkaroo, um Big Mark Davis, those two together.
What a great looking pairing right off the bat. Um when it comes to Jake, uh I will start calling him Jake Doyle, uh, which was always a really good name. Um Jake's straight up, you're gonna be seeing a lot of this uh coming up in the world of professional wrestling. You know, when we talk about history and we talk about um the business and where the business is at. There's a generation of people that grew up on the Monday Night Wars literally waiting to see Who was going to be where and when? Um if you talk about the first show of the year, uh first show of the year was AE D um was sorry, WWE's Monday Night Raw. We're all talking about Chris Jericho. Um doesn't happen, but even me who th it got the rumor mill, blah blah blah blah.
Like I said, very, very happy that a surprise was kept quiet. Um w regarding Jake. Uh kudos to him that he didn't leak it out there. Um, but kudos that it didn't get leaked out. Why? 'Cause it ruined a a nice little surprise.
Why was Jake Doyle’s surprise appearance such a big deal?
Um Jake's contract was up in TNA, and like I said, you're gonna see a lot of this. And uh he moved on. That's wonderful. Uh that's how the business should be. Um if TNA's roster is extremely full, and someone who's been there for a while needs to go somewhere else. And that's exactly what he did. He came in, he also is making an impact. Jake is an uh a really good guy. He's an excellent worker. Um, and I feel he will do well with the change of scenery, as well as if he does tag with Mark Davis. Um it on paper, how they look. Look really, really good, and if they listen to Don Callis. Um specifically, if Jake listens to the direction of Don Callis, I could see them uh really doing well in AEW because AEW has a lot more uh time for their wrestlers, as well as you know, they have now four hours of television, so it's good to see someone who's done this a long
Time uh move on uh to the next step and phase of his career. Um a guy who busted his ass on the Indies and uh left TNA at one point, got brought back to TNA, and now he's gone again. Uh barring from injury, he's always been nothing but a professional, and uh I I'm super duper happy for Jake. to be an AEW. He has friends in AEW who I'm sure put the word in for him. And you look at I'll look at other people who have gone from TNA to AEW. Speedball Mike Bailey. I do not consider, though I'm a massive fan and love working with him, Kevin Knight.
