It was an alternative to what we were saying, and this is when New Japan was hot, when most of New Japan is now in AEW. Um And I'm just wanna touch base with the nation 'cause here I am. I have to talk for an hour. And what draws you to AEW? What doesn't draw you to AEW? What do you like about pro wrestling? What you don't like about pro wrestling? Because CM Punk. and the Usos, Roman Reigns, it's a lot of talking. And it's a lot of what brings you in and it's got people talking of what's gonna be next. That's compelling television. But so are Different type of matches. and what we're going to see at AEW's revolution.
I'm excited for AEW's revolution. They had my money anyway. I and it's not because I have to cover it, because I like the card. And I also know when I tune into AEW, I'm gonna see some crazy ass shit. some crazy wrestling matches. I always say I would be a hypocrite If you I oh well they did this or they messed up that they messed up that. Listen, no wrestling performance is perfect. And I came from crazy stuff on television. I came from Insane wrestling matches, next level wrestling matches. I'm not talking about myself. I'm talking about this first time I'm watching Rey Mysterio and uh Psychosis, or the first time Rey Mysterio and Hooventude Guerrero bring Lucha to the States. I'm talking Tajiri super crazy and throwing little Guido in that mix.
I'm talking Rob Van Dam, Jerry Lynn, talking Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Masado Tanaka, Mike Awesome. I've seen at all. And it was a pioneer to this type of style that has, you know, resonated here in the States. It's a bit of American style mixed with some of the strong style we saw in the eighties and nineties of New Japan. Um And and all Japan, because some of those matches were just pure wrestling matches. And if you understand Japanese wrestling, it it's you know, from the beginning where everybody's just trunks and boots and nobody has names or characters, and it's the ascension through the ranks and having these type of matches. Build your credibility with the off uh with the audience. It's the same kind of how most people get over.
Hey, you got to start having good matches. You could be a promo guy. Um but you got at the end of the day. Have good matches to prove up, you can do this thing called pro wrestling. The girls match wasn't friggin' great. No one's gonna tell me that um Mike Bailey and Kyle Fletcher was insane. Because they all were. But I just want to know like for two to three days now everyone's still talking about this 'cause Raw was solid wrestling but more storyline driven, AEW, which if you are the alternative, they're doing their job of being the wrestling show.
