To kick off the show, Robin and I discuss Cody Rhodes winning his third WWE title and whether we think his match against Randy Orton is the right call for WrestleMania. This is the Busted Open Podcast. In case you didn't know everybody, we are officially in WrestleMania season and things are happening. Are shaking up. Now, here's the thing, Robin, that today's show is not just gonna be about, yay, we got another WrestleMania main event. Because if you have been on social media as of last night on Friday night, SmackDown, there has been some mixed reactions towards what went down. So here's the gist: Cody Rhodes has.
Has successfully defeated Drew McIntyre, won back his championship, which means that he is gonna go on to face Randy Orton, who won the elimination chamber, is gonna go on to face him at WrestleMania 42. Is that does that match sell more than Randy and Cody, which is basically Basically, a dream match, and it did make sense. All of this made sense. Jacob Fatou is the reason Drew McIntyre won the title in the first place. So Jacob Fatou being part of the reason he lost it is a logical uh chord there. Drew McIntyre has consistently done things to sort of undermine himself as part of his character. So for him to be uh and do and act in a way that leads to Nick Aldous making this match that ultimately costs him the championship, that makes sense.
Randy Orton been eyeing that title for a minute now. You know, that we've had those backstage segments. We've wondered, okay, what does that mean? When is that coming? Well, RKO out of nowhere at the elimination chamber, and you realize they've been building. Toured it all along. So I have no problem with the result. I have no problem at all with the WrestleMania main event. But I will say I do think Randy should win it when it comes down to it.
