What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
So that it doesn't make a mess in the beginning.
Bye. Bye! Give everyone a kiss! Change for free. Change to connect. Expensive, cheap and fast. Bye. Starting at 15 euros a month. Bye.fi Welcome to the Busted Open podcast, this...
is Dave LaGreca. On today's episode, myself and Bully Ray talk to Seth Rollins and CM Punk as we get you ready for SummerSlam. That's right, Seth Rollins and CM Punk right now on the Busted Open Podcast.
This is the Busted Open Podcast.
And speaking of Seth Rollins, that's exactly who joins us right here on Busted Open. And I'm excited! And I know Seth's excited! to come on and join us here on Busted Out. But good morning, Seth. How are you?
Good morning, Dave. I share in your excitement. Let's go! I don't know that I can get as wild as you currently. It's 6.40 a.m. here on the West Coast, so I'm just opening my eyes to come on and say hello to you guys.
Seth, I got up at 4.30 this morning, and I was just like, I'm getting to talk to Seth Rollins this morning. I'm super excited. I was pumped.
Let's go! Now, last night, we were in...
Bakersfield California WWE had a live event and so we ended the show around 10 o'clock and I drove home after that so it was a bit of a late night for me 4 in the morning wasn't in the bingo card today Seth the news just came down on ESPN with Joe Tessitore that you will be on night 2 on these new 2 day 2 night events do you prefer night 1 or night 2?
Gosh, you know what? I don't know that I've had much experience with Night 2, to be honest with you. Okay. I think about my Mania history. We did SummerSlam, obviously, last year. I was a two-nighter, but I didn't wrestle on it. I just cashed in the contract, Money in the Bank contract, at the end of Night 1. And then most of my WrestleManias have been Night 1, as far as matches are concerned. So... Yeah, I guess I'll let you know after Sunday night.
So let me ask you this. When you're getting ready for any Raw or any pay-per-view premium live event, would you rather wrestle early in the night and get it over with, or are you cool waiting to be the last match in the main event?
No, I prefer the pressure of the main event. I like that. I like the pressure. I want it all. You know what I mean? That's why you get in the business. It's the main event, the big shows. No offense, if you're getting in being like, you know what, I'd like to be the second match on the card.
Then you're in the wrong business.
So I think all of us want to be at the top, and the top is the match that goes on last. I don't care what anybody says. I know there's a lot of conversation. around the WrestleMania main events now that, you know, there's two nights. But I'm of the feeling that night two, the last match that goes on is the money drawer. That's the big match. It's the marquee match. And so, you know, that's the business I got into. And so I'm always, always wanting to close the show.
Well, Dave, I mean, both nights have been announced already. So, like, let's do process of elimination here. What do we have on night one?
Well, I mean, night one, you're going to have Nick Aldis and Gunther, I believe. You're going to have Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. You're going to have, I got it right here. So, yeah, Nick Aldis and Gunther. You have Cody and Punk. You have Liv and EO. And then you have Brock and Oba. So we can discuss about what. But, you know, looking at night two, no disrespect. Your main event is Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. So, in essence, your main event for SummerSlam is Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
Wow. That's got to make you feel good, Seth, right?
Yeah, I mean, it does. Obviously, that's great company. You look at some of the marquee matches on the show, particularly the Hell in a Cell with Brock and Oba and Cody and Punk for the WWE Championship. You know, if you're going on last over those two matches, that says a lot. But the truth is, you know, as far as what has defined WWE over the last decade, you know, it's been two guys consistently. It's been Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. And so it sort of makes sense if we're going to do this dance.
