I did. I did enjoy. Um, obviously not a perfect episode. Um it's hard to hit perfect home runs every night. But I I enjoyed it, especially just I like the story that, you know MJ F sat there and told. I I think it 'cause it works for me. The story with him and Kenny works for me. The I like Kenny's poking fun at the HIPAA laws, like, you know, you know, how do you get doctors information with all that? But I mean they did a a story reminded me, um Kinda when Brock was killing everybody. And it was either Finn Or A J where they kind of told a story of yeah, the injured guts 'cause we all know I Brock had to go away for stomach surgery and whatnot and they he took that that bump on the corner of the table and like it it was a great story to to give I think it was Finn the legs to kinda get some some action on him.
They told that story with the stomach. So I think You know, if MJF and Ospre Osprey lean into that, I think it's It's gonna be a fun story and it gives um Kenny something to really sell. It gives people something to care about because it's real life.
Yeah, uh and we're gonna get to the obvious talking point, which is a big return that we got to start off Dynamite in just a minute, but since you mentioned Max and Kenny Omega, Nick and I were on last week and We weren't impressed at all between the back and forth with MJF and Kenny Omega. It was and something that we're not really used to with MJF and it was kind of like a good promo from Max. You usually don't say good after an MJF promo. It's usually great or very good or like amazing or it floored me or my jaw dropped. I thought last night was a great comeback from what we saw. last week. And Kenny Omega, and I don't think I'm breaking news here, not the best on the microphone. So MJF really has to bring it.
And I thought he really brought it last night during that contract signing.
Yeah, they're just there's something so casual about the way that MJF delivers a promo. It's very, very, very real. It doesn't have the beats. I mean, we all do it. I do it sometimes as a wrestler. I I catch myself in a cadence as I'm talking and I'm going, Ah, like I have to break that in my own head sometimes because Anybody who's grown up watching wrestling, that's what it was. Promos were built in cadences and they were different inflections where you're yelling a little bit more than you would, even if you were angry in a real conversation. And so when you grow up kind of watching that a little bit It's in your brain of this is how it's done. And I think that It's completely changed with with guys that like Punk and Cena and
when they especially with John, the way he would just tell a story by talking, and it was never that kind of crazy inflection or patterns in the speech. And that's where the whole what chant comes in when they when they figure out your pattern. Um but I there's something about MJF when he delivers a promo It it looks like he's thinking about what he's gonna say and how he's gonna convey his message, which makes it very real. Like anytime you're having a good conversation with somebody, whether it's animated or it's not um it's just a casual convo, like there's pauses, there's awkward pauses where I'm trying to think of a response or they're trying to sp you know, it it's very natural and real. And I think that's what makes MJF so good at what he does.
And also hateable 'cause he always comes across like he's the smartest guy in the room. that he knows exactly what's in your head and what you're thinking, even if maybe he doesn't. He comes across that way. And you mentioned it. It's relatable, but it's also like what you dislike the most about MJF and and he's also going up against Kenny Omega, who's when it comes to the AEW fan base, maybe the most beloved wrestler on that roster.
