Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Welcome to the Busted Open Podcast. This is Dave LaGreca. On today's episode, myself and Bully get you ready for Clash in Italy. We break down each and every match right now on the Busted Open Podcast. This is the Busted Open Podcast.
Chapter 2: What matches are previewed for Clash in Italy?
I want to go through these matches for Clash in Italy. We talked about Sol Ruka. We talked about Sol Ruka and Becky Lynch. Sol Ruka, your new Intercontinental Champion coming out of Sunday Afternoon Bully?
It's a good one. I would not pull the trigger, no.
So Becky Lynch retains.
Yes. Yes. Becky retains. Interesting.
I have a feeling Sol Ruka is going to win the championship.
I mean, they may, they may, they may want to give her a little boost, but I don't know if, I don't know if, I don't know if Italy is the right time to give her that boost. Okay.
All right. Fair enough.

Chapter 3: Who predicts victory in the Sol Ruka vs. Becky Lynch match?
I mean, it's hard. It's a good one. That's why I said all five of these matches are big matches. Obafemi and Brock Lesnar. Now, we got Obafemi and Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar, we thought, retired at WrestleMania in Las Vegas. He comes back. He... A really great video package on Monday Night Raw this past Monday where he said he let his emotions get the best of him and he retired.
But he's taken beatings before. But could Oba come back from taking a beating? It's an interesting question. Because this is Clash in Italy. And we got SummerSlam on the horizon. Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar. Who wins and how?
There was a time where I wanted to see Gunther versus Brock Lesnar and see Gunther retire Brock Lesnar because they were going with the Gunther retiring people storyline. I no longer want to see that. First of all, I am far more intrigued by the Gunther Cody storyline and what it can turn into than I am in Gunther and Brock. Also...
Brock took off his boots and his gloves post-WrestleMania match against Obafemi. He basically symbolically retired. Symbolically retired without saying the words, I'm retired. Changed his mind, came back and attacked Oba on Raw. The only person, the only person I want to see officially retire Brock Lesnar is Oba Femi.
Because if it wasn't Oba Femi and it happened to be Gunther, then what happened at WrestleMania is completely discredited. And we might as well forget that it even happened. The beast must fall. To the ruler. Not in Italy. But at SummerSlam. I'm all about Brock Lesnar. Getting the best of Oba in Italy. Now maybe it's a non-finish so Oba doesn't have to eat a loss.
But Brock Lesnar has to absolutely destroy Oba Femi. Destroy, destroy, and then destroy some more. When you're done destroying him and we think the destroying is over?
Destroy him a little more. And here's the caveat. If you want to go outside the ring, and that is, all right, we know that The Rock came back at Elimination Chamber because they wanted to sell a little bit more tickets to Elimination Chamber. And then it set down a Rickle effect that really affected WrestleMania last year. This is not the case here with Brock Lesnar.
First and foremost, the first hour is going to be on ESPN. Brock and Oba is not going to be a part of that free hour on ESPN. That's number one. Number two, Clash in Italy sold out. So you're not using Brock to be on ESPN and you're not using Brock. To sell more tickets. Well, why are you using Brock then?
I think it's to set up an angle, like you said, to set up SummerSlam coming up in Minnesota. It makes too much sense. It's his home state.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of Obafemi vs. Brock Lesnar?
It's where he is. So, to me, it's either going to be a win by Brock or, like you said, some kind of non-finish that sets up what we're going to see at SummerSlam.
I would much rather see Brock defeat Oba Because then it's one and one. I beat you at WrestleMania. I came back. I beat you at Italy. There's only one way to settle this. Oba can say, I left you laying at WrestleMania. I left you laying so bad that you had to retire. Brock can say, I left you laying in Italy. I left you laying so bad that you couldn't stand up on your own two feet.
How do we settle this? Last man standing for their career. Go to SummerSlam. Let these guys have all the bells and whistles. Obafemi officially defeats Brock Lesnar. We've already seen Oba pin Brock. So we don't need to see him pin Brock again. You don't need that final one, two, three. You got it at WrestleMania already. You got it on ESPN. The majority of the world saw it.
Now it's about slaying the beast to where he can no longer get back up and fight. Brock Lesnar is a warrior. A warrior wants to go down fighting. Throw himself on his shield and go down fighting.
And also a way to set up Oba to be as red hot as he was coming out of WrestleMania. Because if it's the scenario that you're talking about, coming out of SummerSlam, he's going to be red hot. And that's when you could capitalize on Oba Femi. Whether it's the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship. Now you got Oba back in that moment.
I think even better, because as you said, Bully, that moment at WrestleMania was more about Brock retiring. than Obafemi. If it's the scenario you're talking about, it's all about Obafemi coming out of SummerSlam. And now you've got your guy at the top where he should be.
this is that is what i would love to see happen i also talked about on tuesday about a final scenario that i would like to see because you brought it up to me and said well it's in minnesota what if brock is the biggest baby face in the match i said by the time they get to the end of the match if brock lesnar cannot answer the 10 count if it is a last man standing match if he can't get to his feet
And he's laying there, and the bell rings, and Oba Femi is declared the champion. And the referee raises Oba's hand, standing over Brock Lesnar.

Chapter 5: How does Gunther's storyline with Cody Rhodes develop?
That is a moment right there. When the referee walks away, and Oba lowers his hand, and now looks down at a slain beast laying at his feet, that is a moment right there. When Ober reaches down to help Brock up, that is a moment right there. Helping the Beast back to his feet, that is a moment right there. That's warrior shit.
That's warriors in battle that have a respect for one another type of stuff. We're going to fight. We're going to fight till the end. But I respect you so much as a fighter, as a warrior, as a battler, that I'm going to help you back to your feet out of respect for everything that you did before me.
Because if you didn't do what you did before me, I wouldn't have the opportunity to beat you and thus move in to the same place Level of greatness. That you achieved. It's a way of giving. Oba the rub. Without Brock. Actually doing what he did with Cody. Brock raised Cody's hand. Cody got the rub. In Oba helping Brock up. And Brock allowing Oba to do it. That's the rub for Oba.
Yeah, and that all starts Sunday when Oba steps in the ring with Brock at Clash in Italy. Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship. Rhea Ripley defends it, or do we see a new champion in Jade Cargill? Jade Cargill. I think so, too. And we saw Jade pin Rhea in that six-woman tag last week on SmackDown. And there's something about it, man.
Like, I really feel like since WrestleMania, we're seeing a different Jade Cargill. More confident Jade Cargill. You know, more confident on the microphone. More confident in the ring. Yeah. I think the perception that people have of Jade Gargill is changing, and I think it's going to change even more come Sunday afternoon.
Because if Rhea retains, I honestly don't know what you do with Jade Gargill from there.
I would like to see them give Jade an opportunity.
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu, tribal combat for the World Heavyweight Championship.
We discussed this on Tuesday also.
