Devon, we're so excited to have you on the show. And I was telling Dave before you got on that Before you got signed to WWE, you had come to the dungeon and trained. And I I I remember Gabe Sapolsky saying, Hey Natty, like I want you to take a look at uh Javon. was introduced to as Malachi.
Yeah.
So that's how I that's how I know you. But um I remember just being blown away by your work, your passion, your work ethic in the dungeon. And I said to TJ, after watching you that very first night in training at the dungeon, I was like, This kid is He's got something. He's got like that Jeff Hardy like it factor, which you cannot, it's hard to it's hard to explain, but um You just have so much going for you. You're so special. You're so unique and you're so authentic. But how are you how are you feeling? It's your your breakout year in WWE. How does it feel?
Oh man, uh first I appreciate you. Appreciate you for saying all that. Um Oh no, I I I feel I feel like it's great. Uh I also feel like you know we are We're just getting started, but we haven't even started yet, if that makes sense. You know? Um I've I've gotten so many opportunities so far. And I've just experienced so much so far and well all the the Europe tours and and and the traveling we've been doing this the past two months and I just got here. So it's just kind of like everything's getting thrown at me, but I'm having a great time with it. I'm just having fun with it.
And I feel like you're doing s such great work under pressure. Um, just going back to the rumble. That spot with you and Jacob fought too has gone viral. Like you're more than you're more than bouncy. How did you feel after doing your first rumble?
I felt great. Uh usually I'm I'm very um How was the word? Uh not critical, but uh Um uh when when I look back at my work, I'm very like I I look at everything, you know, I'm very like spot on. So like I'm very hard on myself when it comes to my matches because I just want them to be so great. Um but After the rumble, I was like, yo. I felt like I did amazing, you know. I was I was in the ring with, you know, people that I grew up watching. So that was fire. That was great. Um, it it was it was insane. It was insane.
You know, Javon, when you look at these last two months and think about it. These last two months you're on a sold out Saturday night's men event with the world watching and John Cena's last match. You know, hand picked by John Cena, by the way, to be a part of Saturday night's men event. Monday night raw. The Royal Rumble. I you know, like Those that I mean I mean, seriously, when you first put on a pair of boots and you stepped into a ring for the first time, if you were to told that, hey, at some point in a two month span, you're gonna be on Raw Saturday night's main event and be a part of the Royal Rumble. I mean I mean, listen, and now you're on the road to WrestleMania, Javon. I mean this is a pretty sweet place to be right now if if you're Javon Evans.
Oh yeah, for sure. I mean if I would have told myself that uh in the past, then um I wouldn't I would probably agree with myself, but I wouldn't assume that it was gonna happen this soon, you know. Um Yeah, yeah. I'm it it's crazy, especially like you just said, like I am officially a part of the road to WrestleMania and uh just thinking about it, bro, like Like that was my favorite mode on video games. You know what I mean? So now actually being a part of Royal WrestleMania is insane. I feel like I'm Playing my own little character, you know, my my story mode right now.
Well, and I was I was saying to Dave, like I there's you know, there's this I I I was in it was an interview that you had done in the past where you talked about like Shawn Michaels had had taken a chance on you.
