Busted open podcast. Well, first of all, overall thoughts on SmackDown last night. It was interesting because I felt like the show went by so fast. I'm like, come on, this is a three-hour show. And I looked up at the clock at seven. That was already two hours deep into SmackDown. And I looked and I was like, oh, we're down to the final hour. Yay! Um, so that's That's what I was looking at. I'm like, wow, usually for SmackDown I'll look at the clock and it's like twenty minutes half past. And this time it was like, No, two hours went by, nice. Um, so I thought that the show, the way that it actually went down yesterday, the way that it flowed, I thought was pretty good. There was a lot of different storylines.
I like that Jacob Thought too and Drew McIntyre threaded to uh throughout the entire night. And so did and so did Randy. All of Randy's, you know, who is he talking to? Who is he, who's on the phone with him? All of that threaded nicely throughout the show, too. But to get to it though, the biggest Takeaway that I had of Randy last night was that this man can do no wrong. He could steal all of our credit cards, and we'd be out here being like, woo, Randy, RKO, yay. Um, the people love this man, Mark, and I don't know what they can do to make the people hate Randy. Last night, during his promo, The biggest telltale sign for me was he went out there and he said that he was always the kind of guy that would go out there and shake hands with little kids, take pictures, wish them happy birthday, kiss babies, you know, that type of stuff.
And he said, I don't want that to be my legacy. I want my legacy to be world championship wins. And I thought to myself, this man just said, F your damn kids and F all the damn kids. I wanted to be about championship belts and you want to know what the crowd did? They
cheered. They cheered one hundred percent, and Denise. I'ma tell you why they cheered. Because they see Randy being close to the goal that he set. And people would rather see An accomplishment, a milestone being made. then Them to have their own selfish druthers. Um I I remember Ramley from the beginning. And the Randy that we have now is not the Randy that we had at the beginning. It took a long time, a couple of decades to For people to appreciate and love the randy that we have today. Because that first iteration of r of Randy Orton was, you know Like my my stint. In and out of trouble, always bucking the system, rebellion. And Randy has made himself a Hall of Famer. Randy has made himself uh somebody special in the in the business, not just another wrestler's kid.
And you know, I'm I'm hoping that We get to see even more of that because I think if anybody deserves To Eclipse Cena's record and wins is Randy Orton.
So the part that you said just now about the people caring more about wanting to see this uh, you know, c uh Randy hit the fifteen title mar championship mark and then see if he continues on to sixteen and seventeen, all of that, you're right. They care more about that than they do what we're actually getting, like the context of the story. So this brings me to my next question. What does this mean for Cody? Cody Rhodes, because they did get a little bit of uh, you know, we've kind of seen a little bit of uh people, you know, not feel they're they're feeling a certain way about Cody, right? We kind of get a mix, it kind of depends on the crowd. Sometimes they cheer them, they love them. There's other times where the other guys out there they're like, oh, boo Cody, boo Cody, right?
So what does this mean? Do you think that at WrestleMania we get a double turn where we might see See Cody Rhodes turn heel at WrestleMania, mark this major WrestleMania moment, and then also see like Randy just like go all the way. Or do you think that it doesn't make sense in what they're doing?
