Our colleague here on Busted Open on Pro Wrestling Nation 24-7 once again is a TNA champion. And I'm very happy about this, even though I had the prayer circle out for Mike Santana, for him to be the champion. I just knew that he could be a singles star someplace, somewhere. It happened to be TNA. And I had that prayer circle, you know, the candles you just put around and get the candles. Yeah, I'm all lit. And you just say, you know what? Wrestling gods, let Mike Santana be the champion. Let him carry it for a while.
Why was Jonathan Hood surprised by the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion?
He has that charisma. He's on the precipice of being something special. Let him be champion. And guess what? My wrestling prayer was answered, that Mike Santana was champion. It's funny, in this same spot busted open after dark, it was TNA, I believe in Orlando, Florida. And I'm talking about TNA like I'm doing right now. And I look up and all of a sudden Frankie Kazarian becomes the champion. It just threw the whole like chi of the show completely off because I'm like, oh, Santana gets Kaz. Oh, no problem. And Kaz wins the championship. And I'm like, what the heck's going on? And then TNA gets the AMC deal. And now we're right back where we started. Right. With Mike Santana being champion. But as far as Nick Nimitz is concerned, I'm glad he's a champion now.
Because he is that guy that many of us wrestling fans rooted for over the years when he was in WWE. He got just a taste and a bite of the apple once. He had a lot of really great matches. But there was a lot of underwhelming when it came to Nick Nemeth because of the way he's booked. Not because he wasn't ready. I mean, he steals a show every damn night. He's here to tell you. Top of the card, middle of the card, main event. He's always ready. We always know that about Nick Nemeth. But I think that many of us was rooting for Nick Nemeth because we looked at a guy that should have been so much better in WWE. And I know that Nemeth always has the resting whatevs face. It's not resting bitch face. It's the whatever.
It's the whatevs face. He does that when he wrestles, when he does promos, when he does busted open. It's like, yeah, yeah, wrestling, whatever. But I think he has to understand, like, we as wrestling fans root for Nick Nemeth because we know. Think about some of the best technical wrestlers that you've ever seen over the years. Nick Nemeth is on that list. And so we just thought, man, he should be doing more. But look, I know Nemeth was well paid and he's fine. No problem. But we just think that when we see someone special like Nick Nemeth, that he should have his just desserts, that he should be able to have the opportunity to showcase at the top of the card or or semi main to show what he can do and not just lose matches and be underwhelming.
And when you see his him come out, you just figure like, oh, you know, Nick Nemeth, it's Dolph Ziggler. He's not going to win tonight. So you root for him. Because I never saw him as the underdog. I saw him as a favorite that was utilized as an underdog. So now here he is as world champion for TNA. And I only see great things for him again. Because at this time of transition for TNA, they need someone to steady the waters. And Nick Nemeth is the right voice for it because he's here on Pro Wrestling Nation 24-7. So every time you hear him, he's representing TNA. And also, for him as a heel now, what he did to Casey Navarro, he and his brother, Nick Nemeth, what Ryan Nemeth and Nick did to Casey Navarro, they're going to be bullies.
And he's at the top of the card. And I just know that he will be the draw for TNA as World Heavyweight Champion. Nick would say, no, it's Moose, and no, it's this guy, it's AJ Francis, and no, it's the up-and-coming stars, but he's the centerpiece of all of it. It's funny that we talk about the centerpieces of a company because this week in wrestling has been wild, hasn't it?
