04 Oct 2025

Description

BYU football improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 play in the 2025 season after a 38-24 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers in Provo, Utah, on Friday, October 3, 2025. KSL Sports BYU Insider Mitch Harper and Cougar Sports Saturday co-host Kyle Ireland broke down the win and shared their takeaways from the victory. Bear Bachmeier passed for a career-high, eclipsing 300 yards for the first time in his BYU football career. Bachmeier's top targets were Chase Roberts and Parker Kingston. Roberts produced a career-high in receiving yards in the win. The Cougar defense suffered a tough blow as Jack Kelly was injured, and fellow linebacker Isaiah Glasker was also sidelined. BYU generated two takeaways against the West Virginia offense, which was led by first-time starting quarterback Khalil Wilkins. Where does BYU football go from here? The guys shared their thoughts along with other takeaways from BYU's 14-point victory on a rainy night in Provo. Subscribe to the Cougar Tracks Podcast to stay up-to-date with all the daily episodes.
