On October 1, 1955, the script was aired on the Gunsmoke television series. When the Doc returned after a two-day absence, Marshal Matt Dillon and Chester were both concerned. The Doc couldn't tell them where he'd been; all he knew was that two riders had come into his office and informed him that a man had been injured somewhere beyond Fort Dodge.
