Yesterday we told you about DeepMind's AlphaFold system that uses an attention-based neural network to predict protein folding structure in a matter of days. This avoids needing the huge computing resources to brute-force predictions, such as folding@home or the meticulous and labor intensive use of direct observation both of which take much longer.
