11 Dec 2025

Transcription

Chapter 1: How do debates empower extremists?

0.031 - 15.993 Naima Troutt

So I feel like when you debate that person, win, lose, draw, no matter how the debate goes, you're still reinforcing that belief of like an in-group and an out-group. And if I'm on the out-group and debating them, they can be like, aha, see, we told you people were going to attack you for these beliefs because they don't get it. And here this is happening.

16.133 - 24.084 Naima Troutt

So in a way, I feel like by debating him, you're only reinforcing his power and hold among the members of his little group.

0

24.104 - 26.207 Sean Kelly

So would you label him his following a cult?

0

Chapter 2: What parallels exist between hate groups and cult psychology?

26.187 - 35.927 Naima Troutt

I wouldn't call it a cult. I don't think it's a cult. I mean, they don't even meet in person. I don't think you can be an online cult. I wouldn't call it a cult. I would call it a hate group, but I think that psychologically there are some parallels.

0

41.189 - 41.95 Sean Kelly

All right, guys.

0

Chapter 3: Why does debate culture reinforce radical beliefs?

42.03 - 50.242 Sean Kelly

First episode at Spotify Studios in LA. Let's get it. Got the ladies here today. Returning guests and new guests. What's going on today, ladies?

0

50.262 - 50.522 Unknown

Yes. Hi. Hey.

0

Chapter 4: What happens behind the scenes with online creators?

50.823 - 54.808 Sean Kelly

How's everyone been feeling? You guys have been doing a lot of Jubilee debates and making roundabouts.

0

54.848 - 56.951 Naima Troutt

Sleepy. Sleepy, tired.

0

57.692 - 59.374 Sean Kelly

It is early, guys. It's like 10 a.m.

0

60.957 - 62.279 Naima Troutt

Don't say it like that.

0

62.299 - 64.041 Sean Kelly

Probably the earliest you guys have filmed, right?

64.493 - 67.8 Naima Troutt

For, no, Jubilees start at like 8.

68.041 - 72.471 Sean Kelly

What? Why so early? Is it a full day thing when you're on set?

72.631 - 74.114 Naima Troutt

It's like four to five hours, yeah.

74.134 - 74.716 Sean Kelly

Jeez.

Chapter 5: How is the right-wing ecosystem fracturing post-Trump?

74.736 - 77.141 Unknown

Honestly, it goes by faster than you think. It does.

0

77.201 - 81.591 Naima Troutt

Really? Especially when it's a surrounded, because a lot of it's just like watching other people debate.

0

82.092 - 82.914 Sean Kelly

Yeah. Yeah. I feel that.

0

Chapter 6: What are the dangers of Nick Fuentes' influence on youth?

82.974 - 84.477 Sean Kelly

I just saw your two-on-two debate.

0

84.946 - 85.306 Unknown

With who?

0

85.627 - 87.049 Naima Troutt

Oh, with Andrew Wilson?

0

87.069 - 89.071 Sean Kelly

Was it? No, no, it wasn't that one.

0

89.272 - 90.393 Naima Troutt

Oh, no, with Parker.

90.573 - 93.177 Sean Kelly

Parker and you versus my friend CJ.

93.497 - 93.998 Naima Troutt

Yeah.

94.559 - 95.72 Sean Kelly

And I didn't know the other kids.

95.74 - 97.182 Naima Troutt

I actually did not hate CJ.

Chapter 7: How is AI reshaping jobs and economic opportunities?

108.417 - 114.044 Naima Troutt

I think the part that messed me up was in the beginning. He was like, people who are food insecure just need to work harder.

0

114.205 - 114.565 Unknown

Yeah.

0

114.545 - 120.693 Naima Troutt

And I was like, well, that's not very compassionate now. It's kind of hard to work hard when you're starving.

0

120.753 - 125.239 Sean Kelly

He means well. Shout out to CJ, man. He means well. Have you debated him or no?

0

125.259 - 129.524 Unknown

I do not know CJ, but I did see some of that debate.

Chapter 8: What are the realities of protests and police escalation?

129.605 - 135.372 Unknown

I know it was definitely interesting. I mean, definitely a range of ideas.

0

135.352 - 158.152 Naima Troutt

Towards the end, I appreciated when he was like, there are issues with the Republican health care plan because we can't just get rid of a premium tax credit without replacing it with a real solid plan, which I appreciated him being able to actually acknowledge that the Republicans do need to form a better, more thoughtful and understood plan.

0

158.192 - 164.498 Sean Kelly

Yeah. So what are you guys focusing on this year or rest of this year, next year? I know you're starting a podcast. I don't know if that's been announced yet, but.

0

164.478 - 186.503 Unknown

i guess this is this is the breaking news yes let's go so you're stepping away from the debate scene and going in the podcast route now i mean from what i've the debate scene is so interesting like the side of you that you get there is just it's all like grunt i don't know i don't know i just feel like it's raw right it's like it's raw right it's

0

186.483 - 188.252 Sean Kelly

That sounded wrong.

188.392 - 211.97 Naima Troutt

I mean, it's just in the sense that it's a very... Like, the prep work that you do for a debate is hours and hours and hours. And then the debate itself, you have to talk to people who, under any other circumstances, you would never want to talk to. Right. So it gets to be somewhat fatiguing, like, back to back to back to back.

212.551 - 222.205 Naima Troutt

And it's also not, like, the most sustainable, like, way to, I feel like, have an online presence because you have to travel. Like, you just went, like, across the country to do a debate.

222.485 - 222.565

Wow.

222.545 - 223.767 Unknown

I went to Tennessee.
