We're going to have another off day show tomorrow. And then a game. Remember when it was all back-to-backs? I do. Now it's all days off. We got a packed show, actually, today. We're going to go hangover takes, talk a little bit about the game last night, Nuggets-Jazz, a seventh straight win for Denver. We're also going to talk about Jamal Murray. Could he... become like a true number one option offensively in these playoffs.
Seems like he could. Also go a little around the association. Michael Malone weighed in on the MVP debate.
Can Jamal Murray truly become a #1 option in the playoffs?
I don't know if you guys saw that. And we'll also talk about this big Spurs game coming up over the weekend. I'm Harrison Wynn. I got D-Line with me.
That's right, guys. Man, I am feeling pretty normal. Yeah. Leveled out. Leveled out. I'm ready to go.
I got the right combination of things going today.
What factors contributed to Jamal Murray's standout year?
I got it.
Yeah. The perfect storm, some would say.
Yeah. Yeah.
Also got Brendan Vogt here. Rarely do I get nervous for hangover takes, but I don't have any.
Looking forward to it. Boy, this should be fun. Yeah.
It'll be a good segment together.
Yeah.
What insights can we gain from the upcoming Spurs game preview?
Big segment one coming up. Maybe I can start with hangover takes because I wasn't on the show last night. You were here, yeah. Did you watch the game? No.
No.
No, I didn't start.
How do Superchats reflect fans' sentiments about the Nuggets?
Here we go. I didn't watch the game. I didn't even watch the postgame show.
Well, that's fine.
That stands to reason. But I didn't have to watch the game to have this hangover take. Kale, do you have this graphic from last night? Because last night, Nikola Jokic clinched a triple double average for the man. Not bad. He clinched it last night, and I was looking at this beautiful graphic put together by Super Producer Kale that we tweeted out, and just looking at his averages from the last two seasons. I know. Last season, 29.6 points per game, 12.7 rebounds per game, 10.2 assists per game. This season, 27.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, 10.8 assists.
What does the current landscape of the Western Conference look like?
What the hell?
I know. I'm actually surprised his points have gone down. That's the one thing. But then everything else has gone up. I was just looking at this graphic thinking these are insane numbers.
These are absolutely insane numbers. I know. Averaging a triple-double in back-to-back years is crazy. Russell Westbrook, of course, has done it before. He's been the one guy to do it. But these numbers, just looking at them, were so insane to me. I just could not get over it last night.
I mean, yes, visually they are just big blocks everywhere. Bonk, bonk, bonk. And I saw you tweet about it. Yes. jokic's greatness has ruined greatness yep like now we everyone just wants something different like a different version of greatness they're like now everyone's like all what about block shots like okay i guess that's the cool thing not like the every thing that affects every other facet of the game assists rebounds and points it like i think that's all you can do on the offensive side of the of the floor right yeah
It's just funny because we've gone from, you know, obviously early in Yoke's career, he was this analytics and advanced stats darling. And he had these historical advanced stats and analytics. And we were like, oh, he's doing this. He's he's crushing these thresholds. He's checking these boxes. He might be really, really, really good based on this data. And now, you know, his career has gotten to a point where, yeah, he still has that stuff. He still has the all-time PER, the win shares, the box plus minus. Like, that stuff is still there. Vorp God. The Vorp. I mean, we could talk about the Vorp in segment two.
How can the Nuggets prepare for the playoffs based on recent performances?
But just his counting stats are so unbelievably just ridiculous to look at. It just blew me away last night looking at this graphic vote.
