What were the Nuggets' struggles against the Thunder?

Adam Mares 0:01
Oh man, another tough one. That was really tough, man. A lot to talk about, though. Actually, a lot of details in this one. What is up, everybody? Welcome to the Losers Lounge. Presented by Bet365. We're here in the Toyota Losers Lounge room by your front-range Toyota stores.

What were D-Line's key takeaways from the game?

Adam Mares 0:21
Toyota, the official vehicle of DNVR. Nuggets, man... If we could probably do three hours on the toughest losses of the year.
Eric Wedum (D-Line Co.) 0:32
I know. We're stacking them.
Adam Mares 0:33
We would have to go to overtime for that, man. There's so many of these games have come down to last-second shots or calls or what have you. This one, a fantastic game, honestly. If you're a neutral observer, this was an A-plus game with an A-plus finish. But back-to-back-to-back clutch threes. Unfortunately, two of those went their way, and the last one went their way. Lots to get to on this one. Brennan votes here.
Unknown 0:56
What up, gang? That was tough to watch. I bet it'll be easier to talk about for an hour, though.
Adam Mares 1:03
I am telling you, there's a lot of interesting stuff from this game.

How did Aaron Gordon perform in his return?

Adam Mares 1:08
There's a lot of interesting stuff, so I'm kind of excited to talk about it. Harrison Wins here.
Harrison Wind 1:12
Oh, my God. You're totally right, man. I mean, how many of these games have there been this season?
Adam Mares 1:20
so how many have there been in the last three weeks since the all-star game overtime to okc overtime to the knicks two points to detroit gut-wrenching it's just like so many it's again why i don't know if i'm gonna survive this season But if we do, over there, D-Line Co.
Eric Wedum (D-Line Co.) 1:38
Listen, guys, there's no moral victories, but I'm claiming one. I don't care. That was encouraging.

What impact did Nikola Jokic have on the game?

Adam Mares 1:44
Really?
Eric Wedum (D-Line Co.) 1:45
Yes.
Adam Mares 1:45
I did not expect that take from you. Shocking.
Eric Wedum (D-Line Co.) 1:47
The Nuggets lost one quarter out of all four.

How did Jamal Murray contribute despite his injury?

Eric Wedum (D-Line Co.) 1:51
They lost it by a lot to a lineup that they shouldn't put back out. You don't trot that lineup back out.

What role did Tim Hardaway Jr. play in the game?

Eric Wedum (D-Line Co.) 1:56
You don't lose the quarter by nine.
Adam Mares 1:58
I mean, it is certainly, I share that perspective. I do think that that there's like you trim away some of the margins from this game that won't be relevant going forward. And you can make that case, but there is another part of this, which is that winning is a skill like shooting, like everything else, being able to just finish, finish the game and Denver couldn't do it again. And that's kind of been the story, but let's go to a fast breakdown real quick. Cause there's a lot of notes on this one. It's kind of a long one. I apologize in advance.

What were the final thoughts on the Nuggets' performance?

Adam Mares 2:26
First note, though, Nuggets started with energy, man. They came ready for this game. If you recall the beginning of this, really, there's a lot of things that show you how badly Denver wanted to win this game. They took it very seriously. They played very close to a playoff level of intensity and effort. Uh, case in was 2000, like three minutes. So that was a storyline early, but the real storyline was that Aaron Gordon had 13 of the first 17 points for Denver. You've mentioned this was sort of spiritually his first game back since the last one was such a blowout. He played like it 19 points in the seven minutes to open it, just dominant physically. There was of course, no chat, no heart and Stein, no J dub.
Adam Mares 3:03
So he goes inside and just absolutely bully balled them. It was a shame. He had to come out as soon as he came out seven Oh thunder run. Yeah. Timber was up 12 points when he checked out of the game, and they end up blowing the lead in the first quarter in that same quarter. The Thunder took the lead. Thankfully, Tim Hardaway Jr. came to play. He had back-to-back threes and another bucket, but A.J. Mitchell matched him. He was absolutely cooking in the first quarter. 40 to 37 nuggets in the first quarter. Both teams, 37-plus points. Insane. Second quarter, though, is really the story that you referenced here. Big Val and Aaron Gordon. A.G. and Jokic killing it all year, killing it in this game, killing it for five straight seasons.
Adam Mares 3:44
You go to that lineup just trying to see what you got. They have no backup center, so they were playing five perimeter players, and you go with two bigs, and it was just horrible minutes. I mean, absolutely brutal. Denver falls down by 10 points.
