What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
All right, everybody, pick yourselves up.
Dust yourselves off.
Let's do a show.
What historical context is relevant to the Denver Nuggets' current season?
Let's do a show. We're coming to you live from the Xfinity studio.
Hit them up, boys. The Xfinity Studio, you know, locking that five-year deal. Nuggets had practice today. It's been a while since they've had a practice.
What was the mood and atmosphere during the Nuggets' recent practice?
I mean, I guess they had it right after the All-Star break. Those felt like fake practices. This was a, we have to get back in here and figure out what's going on day. And I'm very curious to hear what they had to say from one Brendan Vogt. But also, the Spurs look, we haven't talked about the Spurs very much. Why Spurs? Your Spurs might actually be more legit than we've ever given them credit for. I'm marking it down February 24th. I'm buying the Spurs.
What insights were gained from David Adelman's press conference?
We're going to talk about what that means for seeding in the West. And then lastly, what are the stakes for the season? It's our big topic. Some might look at this and say, oh, things are going down, and now the Doomers are doing all the stakes. What's at stake here? But I actually feel like it's the time of year to remind everyone there are stakes that are not just about this season, but beyond. So we'll talk about what might be at stake for the Nuggets as they try to figure this out in the homestretch. Brennan Vogt's here.
What's up, guys? Very excited to be here on an off-day show. Going to the arena is a real privilege. Every now and then you realize, I haven't been with the fellas enough.
I know, man.
I've been hanging out at the HQ.
Well, it's good to have you in here, in the Xfinity studio.
What challenges lie ahead in the Denver Nuggets' upcoming games?
That's right. Over here, Harrison Wind. You're totally right, man.
What misconceptions did Adam have about the Spurs?
I mean, Monday was definitely a day for me to not think about the Nuggets at all. And today, I'm back.
I might be back. You might be back. You thought about the Nuggets, just not the current Nuggets, because yesterday we had Chuck Williams here come to the bar for our event, the Soul Power event.
What are the high stakes for the Denver Nuggets this season?
I got to say, man, that thing was so awesome. Shout out to all of the people that showed up, especially the old timers. And I say that with affection. They all kind of giggled when I called them old timers. But we had a bunch of people in the bar last night for that event. Chuck Williams, former player, played in the 70s, early 70s and mid 70s for the Nuggets and shared some stories about the ABA. And some of the old timers, man, firsthand accounts.
Yeah.
First-hand accounts about what it was like.
How could the Nuggets' schedule impact their performance?
Talking about games in the Denver Auditorium, which I had to look up where that even was. I don't think it's a basketball court anymore. It's an actual auditorium now.
Where is it? It's the Buell Theater? I think it's like 13th and Champa? Yeah, but that would be right there where the Performing Arts Center is, which is weird to think that that was once a stadium.
Right. But no, it was awesome, man. I mean, a really great crowd. I think everybody that came had a really good time and enjoyed it. It was a great discussion that you guys had, and The documentary is awesome too. I think it's a must watch.
I do too.
If you're a nuggets fan or just a basketball fan, it's appointment viewing. It's really well done.
How old are you right now? Vote. And I don't mean by age, but I really truly believe that there's a point that happens somewhere in your thirties. It's different maybe for everyone where history just becomes so much more fascinating. I almost feel like when you're young, you hate history because you just want to burn the world and start a new one. And then you get to a certain age and you're like, I wonder what it was like though before my time.
not only that, just the con there's context for everything that happens ever, you know, you're like, Oh, none of this is a surprise or this happened because I think once you turn, I think stereotypically, yeah. Once you turn 30, And this might be gendered, correct me if I'm wrong, but especially with some of the World War history and stuff like that, I do suddenly find myself more interested. There's no doubt about it.
But the story of the Nuggets history, man, I mean, here's one thing I'll just kind of tell you that came from last night.
