The Devlin Sports Podcast Network. DSPN heading into the weekend, we've got the Wallabies hosting Springbox over in Perth. Big game Sunday night, though. Um I think I moved that one because of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday afternoon. But we're gonna be talking about All Blacks today and joining us a very popular member of the DSPN family, Ant Strawn. uh beaming in from school over in uh o over in Auckland Stra uh Strony, um how are you mate? Good mate.
Um yeah, very good. Just yeah it's the last day of the term. Um I'm still an old educator, coach most yeah as most people know. But uh you know it's good to be in the school system. It's good to be working alongside the the youth of the of the future. So no it's been good.
Nice one. And as I mentioned, very popular member of the family here. And uh that's why I wanted to pick your brain today, Strawney. Um no All Blacks for a couple of weeks, but still plenty to talk about. Um got five questions for you. You ready? Yeah, let's go. All right, mate. After the greatest rivalry to a three one series one to the Springboks, are the All Blacks after everything that happened. uh over the last couple of years and then after a very tumultuous off season as well that saw a coaching change, are the All Blacks about where they want to be?
It's a really good question, mate, to kick it off. Um, and there's a lot of things at play here. And I mean if you're gonna answer the question um comprehensively you'd have to break it down into parts. And I think in terms of Uh when he he looks at his squad. uh the culture of the group, how they've come together. And then obviously breaking down more specifically p player performance. uh what they're actually delivering on the on the field in terms of their technical and tactical uh pieces, attack, defence, you know, there's lots of things there. I think it probably has a pass mark next to it. Uh you know, they had their plans heading into South Africa. Obviously they're playing and uh benchmarking against the very best in the world.
And in some areas I think of their game and the way the team has come together, it you know, th it's it's been good. But as you know, there's lots of things that we can sit back and look at um, you know, more objectively. And you know, state there's still lots of things to work on. So I think they are relatively happy. Um but we as All Black supporters and I know the All Black staff and the players themselves they won't be entirely happy with the results. Uh winning the series over there. um would have presented a different answer to the question. Uh but they didn't. They lost three one. And yeah, still lots of things to to keep working on.
Okay, these questions aren't just for Strawny, they're for you guys at home uh as well. If you want to have a crack at answering all five, we'd love to hear from you in the comments. And remember to like and subscribe uh as well. Strawny moving on to the next one. Now you talked about objectively, we know what they need to work on. It's pretty obvious like up front is the set piece. Obviously there's scrum issues and there were line out issues um as well.
