Welcome back to another episode of Excuse My Grandma. It's Kim and my co-host Grandma Gail. Okay, Grandma, let's tell everyone about our Thanksgiving.
Well, it started with me getting off the plane on Tuesday coming from West Palm Beach to Westchester Airport. We decided to do Westchester because I made up my mind that it would be an easier flight that they would they have less flights coming in from that to that area. It was perfect. We left early. We got in 20 minutes early. I said to your grandfather, see, this is perfect. So we got out. There was a taxi right away out there and we got on the road. We really were from that point on, it took us just as long to get home from the airport as it did to be on the flight. I just couldn't believe it. It was two hours and I've decided that all the traffic in that area funnels into the GW Bridge. So you're backed up for almost 50 minutes just from there.
Westminster is not that close to New York City. Well, it's 40 miles. I mean, it shouldn't take more than 50 minutes, I mean, to get there. Given an hour, this took almost two hours. So we're back to plan B going into the New York airport.

No, I can't try to outsmart what is a norm. But anyway, Thanksgiving was beautiful, right? We had a rainy day on Thursday, but it didn't damp or anything because we were busy in the kitchen.
Yep. I thought it was really nice to all be together in the house. And it's fun in the Hamptons because I feel like it has that fall vibe. Well, you like that.
Yeah, you like it. I didn't think there was any fall vibe any more than being in an apartment. But of course, your father lit a fire. And luckily the house didn't burn down. So we were good this time. The flu was open. But the only downside was your mother's dog had a nervous breakdown on the wooden floors. The dog definitely does not like Thanksgiving in the country. She prefers New York.
She was fine all summer. And the last time she had this issue was Thanksgiving last year.
I know. I think she gets allergic to those. She's not allergic.
She obviously has some anxiety around the... the floors, but maybe when people come into the house and that heightened her already being, being, she needs to shrink.
We're going to have to take the dog to first shrink. So that was our, the big downside of being out there, but what was your favorite?

Oh, I thought all the food was terrific. I thought your uncle's turkey turned out absolutely perfectly, which I can't get over. It's one of those, he deep fries, it comes out.
But it doesn't taste fried.

And it's juicy and everything was wonderful. I had no favorite dish. I loved it all. I like mom's corn pudding. Of course, I like my own sweet potato since I make that all the time. Yes. I thought the pies were excellent. I actually liked the pumpkin pie a lot. Those were store-bought, though. Yeah, but that was fine. But sometimes you like some stores better than the others. I think your other grandma got the pumpkin pie from a local supermarket, and I thought that was better than the bakery ones. Yeah. So I thought all in all, everything looked beautiful. She did a beautiful job setting the table. Thank you. God, she had those chocolate turkeys on the table.
Yeah, that's what we needed. We need that turkey.

No, you don't understand. Since I saw Wicked. Well, first, I'll go back a little bit because I was in Mexico when Wicked came out. Otherwise, I would have seen it immediately. I was begging to be invited to every pre-screening and no one invited us. Oh. Oh, that was so mean. I couldn't watch it the day it came out. And while I was in Mexico, I was like, the first thing that's happening when we land is we're going to see Wicked. I was with my boyfriend for his friend's wedding in San Miguel de Allende, which was an amazing place. I posted some pictures on my personal Instagram on Kim Merstein. But so the next we got in 11 p.m. So we couldn't go in that night. But the next morning we went to see the movie.
